Thank you Esxence 2023!
The "Esxence 2023" perfume fair in Milan just wrapped up yesterday, and it was my first time attending! The whole experience was a whirlwind of emotions — I loved every moment of it! 😁
It was such a pleasure to meet in person so many people I'd only seen through a screen, including influencers, friends and fellow fragrance lovers.
Jeremy Fragrance and The Fragrance Guy were just a couple of the influencers there, along with many others you’ve probably seen on YouTube before.
But the fair was not just a chance for socializing; it was also an opportunity to discover new fragrances and brands that had been launched specifically for the event!

As a beginner in this world, I felt somewhat "untrained" to join the event, but for that reason it was such a valuable experience.
It was truly eye-opening to speak directly with the creators behind the fragrances — hearing their stories, inspirations and their creative process. It also pushed me to step out of my comfort zone.

There were several brands that caught my attention at the fair:
Some of the most interesting were Tiziana Terenzi and VCanto, specifically their "Giardino Benessere" brand, which offers a line of mononote perfumes that can be mixed together for personal layering, such as
White Musk as well as a line of more complex fragrances that can be used alone or in combination with the base fragrances, such as the new
Dasos
I found this to be a great opportunity for beginners to experiment with layering and discover new combinations (sorry the doesn’t quite show it properly!).

Another stand-out brand was Bois 1920, an Italian company that produces high-quality perfumes.
I particularly enjoyed their line of Cannabis based fragrances, especially
Cannabis Salata and the new
Cannabis Dolce but even others such as
Oro 1920 which has an especially beautiful bottle.
The brand also offered a quick personalized consultation based on each person’s scent preferences, which made the experience feel truly unique and tailored.
The mouillettes were cleverly designed too — they included a list of all the available fragrances, making it super easy to mark and keep track of everything you tried.

Fugazzi's stand was also quite attractive! It was designed as a plane interior where you could relax and enjoy a drink while trying their fragrances.
My favorites were "In Love With The Cocos | Fugazzi" and "Sugar Daddy | Partisan Parfums / P|Parfums" but there were many other great fragrances.

I also enjoyed Dorin fragrances, even if they all had a distinctly feminine feel (a bit too much for my personal taste). Nonetheless, every fragrance reminded me of something from my childhood, it's very difficult to explain but it was sensational.
Another surprising brand was J-Scent from Japan. The ladies at their stand were friendly and kind, and their fragrances felt like they had the same gentle “soul.”
Their fragrance
Roasted Green Tea Eau de Parfum it's a must-try!

The most popular brands at the fair were probably Lorenzo Pazzaglia and Filippo Sorcinelli!
Their stands were crowded with people, but their teams of supporters were able to accommodate everyone.
I had already smelled all of Lorenzo Pazzaglia's fragrances before, but it was nice to try the new release
Artik Sea and Summer Hammer; a fragrance based on notes of mango and coconut which reminds a piña colada (performances are incredible).
Sorcinelli, on the other hand, is famous for his incense-based fragrances like "Unum - Reliqvia | Filippo Sorcinelli" but I also particularly enjoyed "Unum - ennui_noir | Filippo Sorcinelli" and the new release "Délire de Voyage - Hæc dies | Filippo Sorcinelli".
The stand was simply wounderful:

Another brand worth mentioning for its quality-price balance is Evody.
Based in France, Evody offers a range of fragrances that are made using high-quality raw materials and crafted by some of the best perfumers in the industry.
What makes Evody different is the care they put into every detail, while keeping their fragrances affordable.
Personally I liked a lot "Collection Première - Ambre Intense | Evody"
There were also other stands that I found particularly interesting: Coreterno, especially
Mystic Sugar , Toskovat, Etat Libre d'Orange, Almah, Perfume.Sucks, Meo Fuscioni, Electimus, Oman Luxury, Rubini, Pantheon Roma and many many others.

Finally, another fantastic discovery was the brand Atyab al Marshoud. The owner, who is also the creative mind behind the fragrances, was not only very welcoming but also really knowledgeable about perfumery.
One of the fragrances that I had the pleasure of trying was the "Marshoud 4 (White) (Eau de Toilette) | Atyab Al Marshoud / أطياب المرشود" which is a beautiful blend of oud and mint.
In addition to that, I also tried the new Marshoud Red London Edition, a captivating fragrance that combines the sweet and tangy notes of raspberry with the warm and comforting aroma of amber, a must try!
In conclusion, the "Esxence 2023" perfume fair was an amazing experience.
The event provided the opportunity to meet many people, learn about new perfumes and brands.
The organizers of the fair did a fantastic job putting together such a great event, and the brands were generous in sharing their knowledge and passion (but not really sharing samples 😅).
The influencers and enthusiasts added to the excitement of the fair. Finally, I would like to thank all the visitors who made the fair a great success!
Thank you Esxcence!

Your pictures throughout made me feel like I was walking through the fair - and I especially enjoyed hearing more about the displays, your observations about the brand representatives, and which fragrances stuck out to you most (since I already trust your fragrance opinion, seeing as how you have good taste)!
I've been curious about Mystic Sugar - how would you describe it? Do you think it's another I should add to my test list?
Also been searching for an ambery raspberry blend, so I need to get my nose on Marshoud Red London Edition now too!
Thank you so much for sharing, I had fun vicariously experiencing Exsence through you! 🤗
As for Mystic Sugar, it’s been a while since I last smelled it, but just to give you an idea: I went back to the same stand twice just to re-try it, because it was sooo good (which is hard with thousands of scents around ahaha).
The name is perfect, it really does have this sugary/sweet vibes, but it's not overly sweet. There are other notes that make it feel cozy and a bit more complex. I’d say for sure, you'd like based on your tastes! It's very gourmand!!
Same for Marshoud Red, it really surprised me! It opens with this bold raspberry note wrapped in a deep amber warmth.. It is opulent and feminin at the same time. If you’re looking for an ambery-raspberry blend, I’d say it’s worth trying.
So happy I got to share a bit of Esxence with you anyway! Thanks for reading and commenting! 🤗
I look forward to attending next year, most likely with the focus of trying new releases on 1 day and different brands on the other days.
Personally in this article I wrote down a 1% percent about new fragrances and brands launched for the fair, it was a general resume about personal feelings.
But if you have a specific question about a new releases, please ask!
- Lorenzo.
Hi @Lorenzobr, your dream came true and you kept your promise! Great idea to share the event with the whole community. Thank you!
Enjoy,
Gian
Although I wanted to tell a lot more but hope it's still useful 💪🏻

Two weeks ago I had a chance to talk to a creator of fragrances of the Polish brand Jan Barba, in a boutique of the brand. And it is an amazing experience to meet a person who created something that you are smelling (and by the way, he is such a nice guy!). So I imagine how great it is to meet many of such people at once during Esxence.
By the way, it is interesting that brands were not really keen on sharing samples. I would probably be able to try 15, many 20 fragrances in one day (more than that would be just a big confusion to my nose and brain). So I would expect to be able to take at least some samples home, to continue smelling at my own pace.
Greetings from Poland :)
Well, if you dream to go to Esxence, you won't get disappointed.
Milan it's also a a beautiful city and you will be more than happy to visit here!
Anyway, I never heard about Jan Barba but it seems an interesting brand. Maybe he will present next year, who knows!! :-)
As you said, it's really an experience because you can ask them whatever you want, they are most likely to answer all your questions.
Regarding the samples, it's not really their fault. They were not "stingy", simply most of them were there from many days and not ready to have samples for all these people (it was really full of people).
Finally, I had your same purpose. Maximum 30 fragrances for days but when you see all these fragrances it's really hard to not try them.
So be ready to smell a lot of more fragrances!! ahah :-))
See you next year? maybe :P
