towards heaven
We sit by the campfire. It is a spring evening and already dark; it is cool, but the fire warms us. It is quiet, no one speaks. Lost in thought, we watch the flames stretch towards the sky. Someone has applied patchouli - I catch a whiff of it now and then, very faint and subtle. I can't say who it comes from. It's not my friend, he is wearing incense today.
He steps closer and hands me a large cup of black tea. He meant well and has put 4 sticks of cinnamon in it. I take a sip. The taste of cinnamon fills my mouth, and its scent overpowers that of the burning wood. My friend has sweetened it. Good, strong forest honey settles on my tongue.
It gets colder. I move closer to the fire and press my hands against the cup. I want more of the scents that surround me.
After a while, the group slowly disperses. The patchouli person has already left, and the fire is just embers now.
I set the cup down, which has been refilled several times, and we begin our journey home. Longingly, I look back.
At night in bed, just before falling asleep, I still have the taste of cinnamon in my mouth, my friend's incense in my nose, and the smoke of the fire in my hair.

Dragon Tree!
With my last order, I received a sample of this fragrance - unlabelled, just a number adorned the vial. Cap off, I dripped some on my arm and very carefully tested it. Patchouli. But that was to be expected from this brand. But what the heck is also included??
I didn't have much time to think about it further, as I had plans. Two friends came to visit, and after the greeting, I held my arm under their noses.
"Interesting, but that's for men," was the first opinion.
"That's slightly disgusting," was the second.
It is definitely interesting; I also think it is more wearable for men, but it can work for women too. I absolutely do not find it disgusting, just extraordinary.
The predominantly earthy cloud transformed about 10 minutes after application into a mix of earthy, woody, and slightly sweet-floral, and half an hour later it suddenly smelled somewhat resinous as well. It didn't change much more after that.
My friends couldn't guess what it could be either. So, I contacted the manufacturer or seller, who then told me 'Lost Dragon.' Dragon Tree then. I actually have one of those sitting around, but it has never bloomed, and I have no clue what that smells like.
However, I don't believe that 'Dragon Tree' refers only to the bloom, but actually to all components.
'Lost Dragon' (the name somehow fits) is a dark, gloomy, deep scent. Wearable for men in everyday life, but as a woman, I would only wear it on certain occasions.
I would also like to mention that some perfume manufacturers could learn a thing or two about the longevity of most Devil's Kitchen perfumes!
A shout-out for the original idea as well.

Oh dear....
...was my first thought after spraying it on. I wore it for the first time today and still don't know whether I should be horrified or excited.
It was a blind buy, and although I had my doubts about the rose (rose rarely suits me), I just had to have it. The name attracted me like magic ;-)
The opening is extreme; I smell lychee and pepper equally strong, I almost had to sneeze. The combination is nonetheless captivating.
However, the transition to the heart note made me briefly stagger. As I feared: I find the rose horrendous at first, stuffy, soapy. And I perceive it strongly, probably precisely because I don’t like it.
Fortunately, it is quickly caught by woody tones. I had to (and wanted to) push through that. The base is thankfully not as terribly cloyingly sweet as I had expected, actually quite pleasantly sweet-woody.
Now I would like to describe the scent visually. I imagine 'Madness' like a hallucinogenic drug high. You see pink elephants (or whatever), which frightens you, yet you have to laugh.
And if I had to personify 'Madness', it would be the little creepy girl from a horror movie, holding a teddy bear in one hand and a huge cotton candy fluff in the other. The girl responsible for the unexplained deaths in the film ;-)
Now I have gone off on a tangent - as has been said here, genius and madness are closely related. I'm afraid I need to test this perfume more often to be able to decide and evaluate. Until then, it remains without a rating from me for now.
(Uh, do I automatically give a scent 0% if I don't rate it after a comment? If so, I will give a provisional 70%, which may still change.)

London you're a Lady !
For me, as an anglophile, this fragrance is a must! I was as excited as a little child when the package finally arrived :-)
London is one of the few perfumes in which I tolerate rose. And of course, it is very present at first, but it smells fresh-sweet and not so terribly soapy and dominant-synthetic, as is the case with some others. I find the interplay with honeysuckle very successful.
Then I'm not sure, either something is missing in the pyramid or the heart note unfolds very quickly, I already smell mandarin peels or at least something citrus-fruity at the beginning. Tiaré is completely withheld from me, which is certainly due to my (still) untrained nose ;-)
The base notes are nothing new, but I find them beautifully intertwined.
London is a cooler scent for me, in contrast to Burberry for women, which I perceive as warm. Therefore, it is my absolute spring/early summer perfume (even if I wear it not only then): floral, fresh, slightly sweet, slightly woody, noble, solid, and yet somewhat extraordinary.
In any case, London always brings a smile to my face and eases my longing for travel, as it reminds me of a lovingly maintained British garden inviting for afternoon tea. For that, I give an extra 10%. Thank you Burberry, thank you London!

Warmth and Security
A wonderfully pleasant scent that, in my opinion, works almost all the time and fits almost every situation.
A perfume with relatively strong, but not overwhelming sillage, present yet gentle, noble, and calm.
I have worn it often lately, especially in challenging situations, and I was just wondering what might be the reason for that. I have come to the conclusion that it radiates warmth, security, and a feeling of not being alone. As if an invisible helper, advisor, or friend is accompanying me.
Perhaps I also don't necessarily want to smell like this myself, but just have this scent around me; it amounts to the same thing.
Perfect for autumn/winter/spring, because of the warmth already mentioned, and that is where I see the difference to "London."
The longevity on my skin is very high; I wake up the next morning directly with a light vanilla scent!
I like it very much and am glad to have it by my side :-)
