What size of bottle do you prefer?

... MrsC I tend to go for 50 or 100 ml bottles. Most of my bottles hardly have a dent in them after spending years in my collection, but I feel reassured having a large bottle of a fragrance I really adore that it will last me a lifetime. If the bottles are 50 or 30ml I tend to buy backups if I really love them. I have some serious fomo going on. Afraid of running out and then missing out on discontinued or reformulated fragrances. 😵‍💫 I absolutely understand that FOMO I'm exactly the same lmao !

... No right answer. If someone wear only 1 perfume for all the year he will need 100 or 200ml for sure. But to be less objective. I use 50 ml and 30ml. 50ml for daily 30ml for occasions and the only 100ml I have is Ombre Nomade because 50ml does not exist. But worth it ! :D Finally I'd like to say, if I could only use 1 size it'll be 50ml (not too much not too less)

... Zavy Faut dire que les création d'Alessandro Gualtieri pour Nasomatto et Orto Parisi sortent vraiment du lot par le côté déjanté du parfumeur. Forcément c'est compliqué de trouver des maisons qui proposent une direction aussi poussée et assumée dans un délire un temps soit peu provocateur. As-tu eu l'occasion d'aller sentir quelques création d'Etat Libre d'Orange ? Ils ont énormément de références, mais c'est du très beau parfum, de l'art pour l'art souvent. Je pense que tu peux totalement y trouver ton compte. Oui j'ai quasiment tout testé d'ELDO, ça me plait pas mal mais pas assez pour acheter, donc j'essaye de trouver des maisons artisanales :D ! Et oui c'est sur que les créations de Alessandro Gualtieri sont dérangées mais c'est justement ce que j'aime ce type va outre les normes et c'est tellement bien réussi et beau !!!

... Zavy Salut à toi, Pourquoi ne pas se pencher sur les indépendants ? Par exemple Isabelle Larignon, Anatole Lebreton, Meo Fusciuni, Filipo Sorcinelli... As-tu des envies particulière, une direction qui te plaît davantage que je puisse t'orienter ? Alors Filipo j’ai senti ses créations mais je ne suis pas très fan, Meo Fuscini je n’ai jamais testé pour l’instant pas eu l’occasion et les deux premières marques absolument jamais entendu parler d’eux mais du coup je vais regarder. concernant les envies particulière particulières et les directions, j’aime beaucoup, les senteurs: boisées, fumées, cuirée et animales. J’aime également la bergamotte en particulier. Pour te donner mes parfums les plus portés si ça peut t’orienter dans une direction c’est Bergamask et Cuoium. Souvent je porte Ombre Nomade et Boccanera aussi.

Je suis un fan incontesté de Orto Parisi et Nasomatto, en revanche je cherche à explorer des maisons, mais pas des maisons connus comme Killian et tout ce tralala je passe ça ne m'intéresse pas ils font trop de bullshit, de copie, de marketing. Je souhaiterai m'orienter vers des parfums vraiment niché, avec un vrai travail derrière et un passionné éventuellement aussi si c'est un indépendant. Merci :)

... kittea I still want to try a sample set someday, because I'm afraid I'm a sucker for edgy descriptions, but the way the perfumer handles himself is very off-putting. Like, I don't know enough about the drama to know who's in the right and I don't want to, but even if Toskovat was 100% innocent in the whole thing (which I doubt), the whole "BETRAYAL" collection is just such a childish move. This is like high school mean girl drama. It's such a bad look. Yeah, betrayal collection is just a move to get more buyers. I loved his creations, but right now I don't know if i'll buy again. Like inexcusable evil tbh is overrated it just smells like bandage and iodine. I want more to go for something like Tyrannausaurus Rex !

Plus, they send free bottles to influencers to hype everything up, so you really can’t trust all the glowing reviews. Honestly, I don’t think most people need these in their lives. Sampling is fun — and usually more than enough. Yeah to be honest, inexcusable evil the most hyped is not so disgusting and smells just like hospital only last birthday cake and FEBR are good to me that's why I needed opinions, but of course influencers has free bottles that's so bad for us... Yeah! I like "Last Birthday Cake | Toskovat'"... but I don't love the price. There's a beautiful sad story behind the fragrance and its creation/meaning. That's not enough for me. I want a 'full package': a beautiful story, conceptual art, unique/high quality fragrance, and a beautiful bottle. I don't like their bottles. But if you really - REALLY - love that fragrance I think you should get it. I already have it ahah just wanted opinions to me I really love bottles and packaging but he updated the price so I don't want to buy anymore !

Maybe I'm too bitter! Hello. Personnellement je n'ai pas vraiment accroché avec les créations. Ça n'est pas plus créatif qu'un Nasomatto par exemple et l'idée de surfer sur une pyramide de notes WTF pour faire vendre à des consommateurs tiktok ne me plaît pas (note vêtements de prêtres, eau bénite, carte de crédit). En fait je ne trouve absolument pas les prix justifié, en plus la quantité limitée permet aux revendeurs de seconde main d'augmenter encore plus le tarif excessif de base. J'ai quelques samples à la maison, je dois dire que je n'acheterais aucun full size. C'est clairement ça beaucoup se gavent avec des samples à 10€ 1ml c'est abusé, surtout que certe ça sent un peu le plastique pour Anarchist, mais honnêtement je prend une pièce rouillé que je met dans l'eau et c'est bon j'ai la même odeur x) ! Je ne dirai rien sur Nasomatto qui est ma deuxième maison préférée je suis un fanboy de Gualtieri je ne serai donc pas objectif x) Merci pour votre retour !

Scent has different smell on different parts of body sprayed

... Killsocket I wasn't sure where to post this question, but it's driving me a little crazy. Question. Does a scent smell differently to you on different parts of your body? For example, I spray a certain scent 2x on neck, 1 on chest, and 1 on each wrist. If I stick my nose down my shirt, I love it and smells wonderful and get all sorts of notes. However, and I've noticed this for a few scents that just have just a touch of vanilla in the base, the wrists are overpowered by the vanilla. It's weird and slightly annoying. I'm not sure if it is my wrists specifically react differently to certain scents. I have only noticed it with some things with vanilla as an official note listed on the pyramid. Otherwise, with scents without it, I am not noticing it. Has anyone heard of this or is this common? Is there anything I can do differently other than not spray wrists? Hello, of course a scent smells different on different parts of your body. Why ? Simply because pH / sweat / body heat and bacteria are not the same everywhere. and also if you have hair. " The parts of the body that carry more smell are those where more soul is collected." :)

I'm new here and I apologize if this has been asked here before and if I'm asking this in the wrong place or something because I'm still learning to use this website, but does anyone know perfumes that actually smell like the ocean? I don't mean anything tropical, what I mean is more.. colder (?) if you get what I mean. Something like salty water and/or how the air smells at the sea. Notes of smoke, the smell of rain (whatever that is called), seaweed and something like rotting wood would also be alright if mixed in, but I'm looking for more pure ocean-y type, salt water perfume, like how fresh fish smells like, affordable if possible. I own Sea Salt eau de toilette by Monotheme Fine Fragrances Venezia and I do like it, but it's not even close to what I'm looking for. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! ❤️ Megamare for sure

... Ceesie I don’t know exactly what a hot take means so I hope I’m not talking 💩 but to continue on the topic of openings and drydowns, I want a fragrance to captivate me completely. So both the opening and the drydown need to be top. Reason I say this is my recent experience with "Risvelium | Orto Parisi" . I hated the first couple of hours but it got so much better after that. But I won’t buy into it. I get it, it’s art and all that but I’ll put my money somewhere else. Man, as an Orto Parisi fan i swear that Risvelium is one of the best creation of Gualtieri my top are really Bergamask, Risvelium, Boccanera and Seminalis

What's your "hit rate" with samples (or blind buys)?

... I’m not certain. I only have purchased a few Guerlain blind and they all get to stay. I got samples of Shalimar souffle de Parfum and I ran out and bought it; love it. I have a sample of Samsara, orange solaie (?) bosca vanilla forte, Rosa Rossa forte, Mon Guerlain intense and I forget what else. Need to get a sample of Mandarine basilic ASAP. At first Mon Guerlain intense was a no but not I’m not sure. I think with some Guerlain (my favorite house) I have to get cozy with some of the less dainty fragrances (not certain how to explain what I mean.) l still think I prefer the OG Mon Guerlain though.
