Triffid: Regardless, I hear good things about Dior's take on the idea and thought Cuir Cannage (why do I always read that as 'Pure Carnage') might be worth sampling, though I doubt it will trump Chanel Cuir de Russie or Cuir de Lancome, both of which I own and also cost less than the Dior option. I'm also curious about Cuir Cannage. The one that always wanted to sample though is "Diorling", which is all but impossible to find these days. I know it's been reformulated and reissued, but is the new reincarnation any good? Does it even resemble the original? Anyone know?

"I have just one chance, this much is clear, Whisper to her it is now leap year" Not only this may be a (clever??) workaround for guys who are too shy, we now also have "February 29th" the perfume, which "symbolizes the energy manliness" and "stands out with its strength, power and warmth", according to the blurb on the Anfasic Dokhoon site. Good stuff to make sure she doesn't change her mind at the last moment :lol:

...My favorites are vintage "Diorella" and "Fahrenheit". Both of them didn't fare well in reformulations...and I don't have Fahrenheit anymore :cry: I also like "Eau Sauvage Fraîcheur Cuir", a great variation on the classic theme, in my opinion.

..."Trayee" is a beautiful fragrance that has a prominent blackcurrant note. Regarding masculines with a blackcurrant vibe, "Silver Mountain Water" and "Mefisto" come to mind. Too bad raspberry is a no-go, otherwise I would suggest "Tuscan leather", which smells red-berryish to my nose.

Precisely, this one: Cool Water Woman Sun, Sea and Surf ... which, I now see, is not in Parfumo's database :shock: "Cool Water Game for Her Happy Summer" - ha-ha, I think that one actually beats mine, you win.

Triffid: I always wanted the woman to turn around and slap that smug and impertinent guy Doesn't she look like she's about to? smack him in the face with that thing she's holding in her left hand? :D I haven't smelled either perfume, although I had heard about Tramp, that line was a dead giveway. I see that it can be had for close to nothing these days (reissued version of course), but I can't find notes anywhere and there are only a few reviews out there. I guess because it's so cheap no one seems to be interested? No more brainy stuff for me today. The name of the next fragrance must describe the scenery below in seven words.

...I'm pretty much shooting in the dark here. Are we talking about "Crêpe de Chine" by any chance? That would explain the housewives-from-the-fifties association... I have no idea if Madame Millot, the founder, was a hairdresser though. No wait, she did produce some hair ointment (thank you Wikipédia). And it was apparently a big hit - Pommade à la Graisse d'Ours (seriously, bear grease??) As for the slutty teenage daughter, I'd go with "Insolent / L'Insolent" then.

... ScentFan: That's beginning to happen. I smell something new and think.. Oh, that's just like X and I don't buy it. Before when it was all new I bought perfumes I wouldn't buy now. Apicius: The good news is that once you have spent the value of a well-equipped VW Golf you start buying less. You realise that most of the new perfumes resemble something you already have in your collection, and they are hardly better. :) Agree 100%. Good finds have become pretty rare for me lately. Last year I bought one bottle, to be exact. Or maybe I'm not "with it" anymore.
