... If you really want something with a bit more maturity,"Fat Electrician | Etat Libre d'Orange" would be my suggestion. As I wrote in my review of it, for a good stretch in the beginning, it's very much the more refined older brother of that type of fragrance - and then it dries down to lovely, inviting vetiver. It's the kind of scent that grows up as you wear it. If that doesn't sound right, though, and you want something a bit more safe/sweet in the same vein, "Scandal pour Homme | Jean Paul Gaultier" or "Scandal pour Homme Le Parfum | Jean Paul Gaultier" would be solid bets, as would "Invictus Victory Elixir | Paco Rabanne". Or, if you wanted to scrap the maturity angle, and go full-on sweet and mass-appealling, with a slightly classier edge, you could try "Le Mâle Elixir | Jean Paul Gaultier" - it's not my cup of tea, but people in that age group seem to love it. EDIT: Oh, you know what? "Replica - By the Fireplace | Maison Margiela" would be a pretty amazing step up for him, while staying in a similar vein.

... "The Time | The House of Oud" is definitely my most extravagant LOOKING fragrance. Price- and quality-wise, it's probably "Oud for Greatness | Initio" , "Elysium Parfum Cologne (Eau de Parfum) | Roja Parfums" , or one of my MFKs. But I wear those whenever I feel like - if we're talking about the ones we only wear once in a while, and spent too much on, well, that's probably my post-discontinuation bottle of "Armani Mania pour Homme (Eau de Toilette) | Giorgio Armani" . It was the first scent my nose ever picked apart and said "there's more than just one smell here", and it made a lasting impression - so much so that I bought it for a stupid amount of money a couple of years ago, just to have that experience again.

Modern version of paco rabanne pour home

... Dior's Eau Sauvage and Roja's Scandal Parfum Cologne are similar-ish, while being more modern. Ferragamo Acqua Essenziale Colonia has a comparable opening, and has that sharpness that PR has, but also has that Alberto Morillas mass appeal.

A summer/ spring niche scent, that doesnt smell boring

... Merchant of Venice - Damascus Desert - Incredibly pleasant light citrus on a base of iris, cedar, and amber. It smells like walking through a meadow, and is SO inviting. It also tends to go on sale with a fair amount of regularity, which is a nice perk. Wins across the board, as far as I'm concerned.
