Do you ever blind buy? Or do you always test first?

... I have blind bought in the past based on good prices and a reasonable degree of certainty based on the notes/reviews. Most cases I have been successful. Perhaps I missed out on some I may have liked, but I played it safe. I know I don't like sweet/vanilla (so stay away from JPG or SWY), and that woodsy is more for me. Terre d'Hermes, Dior Homme 2020, Tumi Continuum, Boss Bottled Elixir, Ferragamo Uomo Signature, Coach for Men, Bvlgari Wood Neroli, Versace Oud Wood, Spicebomb -- all successful blinds, but only because I was confident based on the notes, and all are very safe. I wouldn't blind on something more 'controversial'. I tested Dior Homme Intense, Prada L'Homme, Prada l'Homme Intense, and picked up decants just to give them a longer test drive. I know iris can be a bit hit or miss. Something expensive or niche, or where it might be less safe and more exciting, I'll test it or grab a decant first. Now, I sample and buy decants -- to test a smaller version, save money, and get to wear without committing to a full bottle.

What size bottles to buy?

... If you've got a decent collection (20+), what size bottles are you buying? I'm planning on picking up a few where my decants have run out, and debating on how big to go. Do you take the best cost-per-ml and buy the 150ml? Or do you go with the lowest price and buy the 50ml?

Which bottles do you want to finish in 2025 ?

... The only thing I think I'll be finishing this year will be decants... Unfortunately, that means I'll be picking up a few bottles of some of the ones I've just about emptied. So much for not adding to the collection! 😀 As far as tips for getting through, I keep tabs on what I've been wearing, but basically try to rotate through based on weather, season, outfit, and whatever I'm doing that day. It's also nice to appreciate going to something different day in and day out.

Fragrance Rotations 2025

... I do an informal rotation based on weather, activities, clothing, season, etc. For example, a cold, cloudy January day with a heavy Fair Isle sweater calls for Burberry London. I've been moving through my collection all winter and will continue to do so. As we get into spring, some will drop off (Spicebomb, Continuum, Versace Oud Noir) and others will come out of hibernation (Atlas, VPH). Of course there are some (Dior Homme, Prada l'Homme, Terre 'd Hermes, Coach Black) that are always in season. If you've got 'em, you may as well wear 'em!
