Hijacked Accounts

... I've been noticing for several days now that some popular statements have an unusually high number of awards. Many of them have between 23 and 25 awards each, whereas in the international section of Parfumo, recent statements rarely exceed five. After checking the accounts involved, it’s clear they’ve been compromised. They all have comments on their walls from the same members, all posted on the same day. These accounts are also awarding each other. I even came across an account that, just five days ago, had a comment in German from a Portuguese friend of mine—who passed away years ago. Someone is hijacking accounts, and these stolen profiles are being used to sell perfumes on the Souk. This is clearly a scam, and Parfumo needs to take action to prevent users from falling victim to it.

... Ceesie Hi @BertolucciK ! How interesting that you have this community in Portugal. Is that in real life? How’d you find those people? It started with a Facebook group called PerFumum Portucale. Then, members from the group started to meet and become friends.

... Even though I’m not exactly a newcomer, having been a member since 10/03/2020, this is my first time introducing myself and participating in the forum. My name is Patrick, I’m 48 years old, and I’m Portuguese. Although I was born in Belgium, I’ve been living in Portugal since I was 18. I’ve been interested in perfumes from a young age, but I never really explored that passion deeply. It wasn’t until the end of 2017, after my son was born, that I started getting more seriously involved in the world of fragrances. I’ve since discovered a community of fragrance enthusiasts in Portugal, where most of my discussions about perfumes take place. However, I really enjoy Parfumo and mainly use it as a guide to help me discover new scents. I regularly post statements about perfumes, and from time to time, I write reviews. These are mostly notes to remind myself, but I hope they might also be of interest to others in the community. Wishing you all fragrant days ahead. ... How do Parfumo Points work? After all these years of being part of this community, I still don't quite understand how these points are awarded. I know you earn them by writing reviews and posting statements, but I’m not sure how many points you actually get. The same goes for uploading photos and adding or editing perfumes in the database. Does anyone know the exact value of these activities? And are there any other ways to earn Parfumo Points?
