... My personal favorite is "Casamorati - Bouquet Ideale (Eau de Parfum) | Xerjoff" , spicy and sweet, cozy and woody-elegant at the same time, with cinnamon being the most distinguishable note. A beautiful rose with cinnamon and crispy cedarwood you can find in "Crimson Rocks | Amouage" . If you want it to rain with cinnamon powder, "Cinnamon Rolls | Theodoros Kalotinis" . No baked rolls there, just cinnamon and dough.

... Claire Smith - my favourite nerd and the only perfume channel I'm subscribed to. I discovered her when she had less then 1000 subs. It's so nice to see her channel growing. Delicious Delights - such a positive, calming presence! I like to watch her videos in the evenong, when I go to bed. I never reach the end of the video, her voice is so soothing, I fall asleep after few minutes. 😃 Persolaise, yes, he definitely plays in his own league. I still prefer reading his blog rather then watching him on YT.

Apparently, I’m a simple woman: if your fragrance smells like clove cigarettes, I will smash the Buy Now button. Good to know. Cloves and cigarettes? Oh, then you NEED to try "Wild Tobacco | Illuminum" .

... You could try "Petite Chérie (Eau de Toilette) | Goutal". A bit shampooey, but definitely not too vanillic or too sweet. Actually it is kind of fresh and the pear is the star, no doubt about that.

... Hi! You could try "Layton | Parfums de Marly" . Definitely mass apealling, versatile, nice, an all-roumder. Everybody seem to like it. In my country, ca. 160 Eur at discounters. On the even fresher side, "Renaissance | Xerjoff" (ca. 150 Eur/100 ml at discounters). But, plase, try before you buy. There are no safe blind buys.

Are there some options out there for something that simple? Even oils may help. Hi! so you seem to enjoy a soothing combination of musk+ Iris. The most beautiful I know you can find in "Iris des Champs (Eau de Parfum) | Houbigant" , but maybe you will consider it to be too feminine. Also, "Pontevecchio W (Eau de Parfum) | Nobile 1942" . This one I can see being worn by a man. Beautiful, nostalgic musky Iris, but you have to also like coriander. There îs actually a male version of this, but it's much fresher, not that musky, with lots of geranium. For a "good old plain white musk", I never thought till recently that I will ever own a "white" perfume, not to mention a middle eastern one. And then I met "Musk pour Narcis | Khadlaj / خدلج" and I was smitten. Smells like fresh snow with just a bit of gentle sweetness, like the cheek of a child who stuffed his mouth with candies and îs happily playing in the snow. Not a clone or something, I have never smelled anything like that.

Goutal Heure Exquise versus Chanel 19?

... @Ringtale, you're welcome! 😊 Yes, the bitterness is stronger to me in "Heure Exquise | Goutal" than in "N°19 (Eau de Parfum) | Chanel", and the Goutal starts off stronger and darker, with a quite animalic touch. I find Chanel to be a tad creamier, whereas Heure Exquise is more vegetal. I never thought of any of them as being a dry perfume, now that you mention it, maybe No19 is a bit drier because the iris appears to be kind of paper-y, which is not the case for me in Heure Exquise. If you feel that No19 is strict, I guess you will feel the same way about the Goutal. The drydown of Heure Exquise is absolutely beautiful, dispite the persisting bitterness. There is also some sweetness there, I guess there is some vanilla, because I notice the liquid becoming darker as time goes by.

Goutal Heure Exquise versus Chanel 19?

... I own a full bottle of "Heure Exquise | Goutal" and a tiny decant of "N°19 (Eau de Parfum) | Chanel" and I just applied them simultaneously for you, so you don’t have to. 😀 Both are older batches (I bought my bottle in 2019, I guess). They are definitely in the same vein and similar enough, so I think it would be redundant to own both. Now to the differences. Knowing the House of Goutal, one would expect Heure Exquise to be a lighter version of No. 19, but surprisingly it’s not. Actually, the Goutal one is heavier on galbanum, which makes it quite bitter, in the best way possible. It beats me why on earth Parfumo doesn’t list the galbanum note for Heure Exquise. I find the iris to be a bit more distinguishable in "N°19 (Eau de Parfum) | Chanel" , while the hyacinth (a touch animalic) dominates in "Heure Exquise | Goutal" . The pleasent bitterness of galbanum is still present in the drydown of Heure Exquise, while the leather note bothers me a bit in No 19. Both are beautiful and timeless, equally opulent and vintige-y. I still prefer my Goutal, but I don’t think I’m very objective, considering that Goutal is still my favourite perfume house of them all.

... Fraujulia Honestly, I find smelling real deer musk as unnecessary and undesirable like travelling to an active war zone. This! Actually, travelling to an active war zone would be more desirable. Maybe you could do some good, offer some help instead of supporting cruelty towards animals for the purpose of some effing scented waters.
