... You or Someone Like You, because I think I would probably put that one on if I was rushing out the door and just wanted something on my skin.

... I am also light-handed. Wrists, hips, rarely the clavicle. I will keep it on the skin and perhaps spritz on my sweater if it's a thick one or the fragrance is light. I layer about a third of the time. The dabbers I will be more liberal with. I use a scented body lotion that smells like jasmine and rose as a base. I can usually still smell my perfume on my clothes by the end of the day. Honestly, I think it's just my "skin chemistry" and personal preference. I'm sensitive to smell. Light freshies like ELDO You or Someone Like You I can be more generous with, but that comes in the form of reapplications rather than spraying a ton on at once.

... Hi everyone. I'm Avery. I'm a college student interested in science (neuroscience, psychology, healthcare science), literature (prose and poetry), and of course fashion and perfume. I was a tweenage Nest loyalist. I got the Imaginary Authors discovery set later on and have since been falling deeper and deeper in. I appreciate creating a collection of unique scents. I feel the most beautiful when the scent I wear evokes an experience that is singular, maybe challenging. Very much an amateur but I'm enjoying myself. I also just like pretty things (: I think perhaps I'll always be searching for a note in one form or another. Like a chocolate-- but now, bitter not sweet. Or a purple that floats. Fragrance is so imaginative. The possibilities are endless. I'm thankful I can contain my enthusiasm in sample sets and reviews. Maybe I can save my wallet!

Fragrance Gift Giving to You!

... I really like getting mini sets and sample kits, of which I've been gifted a few. I asked for full-sizes (by name) once or twice in the past, per request by the people who gave me them. I think it really depends on the kind of gift givers in your life. We only get each other perfumes that we've directly referenced in conversation. One year, I gave my mother Jo Malone's Red Roses EDP, and my grandmother/her mother in law bought my mom the cologne!

Best tea perfume?

... Nest Indigo is pretty beloved. I'm not sure if I would smell it and say "yes, that's my ( literal ) cup of tea," but it's a beautiful fragrance with tea components. Dark and fruity, seems to appeal to many, appropriate for a lot of occasions. These black tea perfumes all use bergamot for obvious reasons, but to me the bergamot really just comes across as "bright." You can go a couple of ways with that, using a backdrop of inky wood or whatever. Indigo is very floral due to the figs. It will probably suit women a little more than men. I like Indigo a lot for its sophisticated punchiness. It's a full-bodied garden. I was obsessed with it in middle school/early high school, when I wanted to feel cool, and got lots of compliments. I still like it after 8 years of wear. In terms of green teas, I have smelled Le Labo's Thé Matcha and I felt uninspired. Interestingly it shares a lot of the same notes as Indigo: fig, wood, orange. It's a very light fragrance. Creamy and sweet. It felt like the idea of a tea latte, rather than actual matcha. I apologize for using this term but I guess that really is the Le Labo DNA. I don't remember Thé Noir all too well. Smoky... I would like to get my hands on some samples so I can get a better idea of how these perform on skin, but I'm going off topic. I would recommend Indigo. It smells like it does in the bottle (which you can easily sample at any Sephora) and is a good price.

... I left Fragrantica after realizing that the site is nearly unnavigable and sends me to scam popup sites on the mobile browser. It's ridiculous. Their UX prioritizes advertising and political messaging over fragrance discussion.

... The perfumer has been very responsive to my emails, but I know it's a one-man operation, so it might be worth reaching out again to him. I am guessing it's your sap allergy reacting. If you purchased drams and want to resell or swap them, let me know (I hope it is alright for me to comment this). I'm sorry they didn't work out for you!
