White Musks

Mitchcraft I love fruity white musk fragrances for summer "Erba Pura | Xerjoff" "Pax | Lorenzo Pazzaglia" "Summer Hammer | Lorenzo Pazzaglia" I would love to smell this on someone else, or maybe I should give it a go again as it has been a while since I tried it and maybe I would enjoy it on myself now "Pacific Park | Simone Andreoli" And even though "Don't Ask Me Permission | Simone Andreoli" does not have white musk as a note it definitely feels like one to me. Same here, I love a fruity-sweet-musky blend. "Cacao in the Sun | Maison Tahité" and "Kirkè (Extrait de Parfum) | Tiziana Terenzi" being my favorites so far. I might need to try "Summer Hammer | Lorenzo Pazzaglia" and "Pax | Lorenzo Pazzaglia" then...

... Dargis Well it will also depends on what you like cause some houses do and don't do certain kinds of stuff. I kinda love Maison Tahité and I'm willing to test even more of them in the future. They essentially revolve around vanilla, cocoa and coffee, but don't be fooled, sometimes it's very subtle. They have a discovery set. Other interesting houses I'd check that offer discovery sets or samples selection: Botanicae Expressions, Mancera, Heeley, État Libre d'Orange, Essential Parfums, Bon Parfumeur... But they're more a hit or miss for my tastes. Oops, I forgot Laurent Mazzone, only tried (and bought 🤣) "Lavande Noire | LM Parfums" but definitly worth sampling if the quality is equal all along the lineup.

... axewound 1. Wearing perfume to attract others is ridiculous and makes no sense. 2. Men’s perfumes all smell the same to me. 3. No perfume should have a sillage of more than 2 ft. “Beast mode” perfumes should be UNTHINKABLE. 4. There’s this constant fighting over gourmands being too “childish” and aldehydes/vintages being too “old lady ish”. But at the end of the day, fresh baked goods and Old Hollywood glamor are both timeless pleasures! 5. Testing perfumes that are intentionally made to smell gross or disturbing isn’t worth it! After getting sick after a long day of sampling niche perfumes, I learned the hard way that I actually prefer my perfumes to smell nice! 2) I see what you mean and that's probably why I'm more attracted to unisex perfumes. I mean, I like stuff like "La Nuit de L'Homme (Eau de Toilette) | Yves Saint Laurent" or "Moustache (Eau de Parfum) | Rochas" but for me, even if the popular opinion may disagree, to my nose these spicy sweet perfumes all have that similar DNA with too many perfumes marketed for men, which I find boring. Same goes with the many citrusy scents, most of them are harsh, boring, and sometimes unpleasant to me. While some people may find unisex perfumes boring, I find men perfumes boring... and too often unpleasant. I tried quite some of Maison Tahite's lineup and this is the brand that really got my interest in perfumes back. Most of their lineup is leaning feminine, everything I tried has something special, except maybe for "Vanilla² | Maison Tahité" which is a fairly pure (but beautiful!) vanilla so not the most original thing. I do really like iris perfumes marketed for men though, and own 3... out of my 5 "for men" perfumes.

... Never intentionally. But when I wear something in the evening, I tend to go for something clean, comforting, soft, to not disturb me at night if it persists until then.

... kittea Dargis Killsocket Hot take (maybe not): Perfume ads/commercials are some of the most cringe advertisements for any industry. I get so embarrassed when they are on tv when I am sitting next to my non-fragrance-hobbyist spouse. I agree. Not only the commercials but also the marketing, ie identity, names, bottles etc. "Le Mâle" lineup from JPG is a good example for me. Bottle and name. Call me stupid but it really keeps me off this lineup for that. A ton of Tom Ford names make me cringe. It's like you can hear the marketers giggling to themselves about how audacious they think they're being. I mean, I also have the sense of humor of a 12-year-old boy sometimes, but I don't charge people for the privilege... I totally agree on Le M â le bottles (I mean, it works for their Pride edition, it's very Tom of Finland, but the rest of the line...) I do find them genuinely funny, though. I assure you, the cringeness of the names in perfume industry looks even worse when you're a native french speaker like myself, because of the overused french in it. That's why Le Mâle is even a bigger turnoff, like if the ridiculous bottle wasn't enough. 😅

... Yes, Montale/Mancera and Costume National. "Honey Aoud | Montale" is the most disgusting perfume I've ever tried, or even smelled. "Black Gold | Mancera" and "Xplicit Vanilla | Mancera" were hurtful. Though I liked "Aoud Blue Notes | Mancera", so I'm not gonna try anything else from Mancera and Montale on purpose but I'm not totally done with them I guess. One more bad sample and I'm definitely done however. "Soul | Costume National" and "Homme Parfum | Costume National" are the only ones I tried from Costume National, and I can't even describe what I smell and why it's so bad to me. Sad cause I'm sure it's a really interesting brand.

... Never had a bad experience (even though some reviews juste made me laugh) but the UI by itself keeps me away from this website now. It's just hideous and non practical. I still use it sometimes to cross some data but that's it. I'm way better here.
