I don't know too many of them. I can PM you my FB email, or you can PM me yours. I haven't encountered too many fragrance groups that were active. Same here. Once there was a topic on fragrantica, someone was asking about FB groups and there were hardly any replies, it seems no one wanted to share their groups with the OP. At last one person mentioned three groups. Out of curiosity I looked those groups up but they were all private. What I would be interested in is an international perfume group, where someone like me who happens to live on the other side of the ocean can also participate in swaps/splits etc. Are there any such groups on FB?

I basically got blasted (and threatened) by an admin (you know who) for questioning Fragrantica's policies. It was likened to "peeing on Fragrantica's rug". The only reason I stay is because I have friends there and it's difficult to swap otherwise. Although (as much as I dislike Facebook), I am thinking of just starting a Facebook and adding everybody on there. Ughh...this is BEYOND ridiculous! Yes, I saw that. The thread discussing censorship was censored, meaning: deleted. If you open a new FB group, drop me a line.

...thank you for the info. I was looking at this site and had some doubts about authenticity. I was checking the Montales, and on one of the pictures of the bottom of a box, I saw mistakes in the English printed text. I think it was the Chocolate Greedy. ...newly added AA to my collection are "lys soleia" and "tiare mimosa". Lys Soleia is a beautiful yellow flower scent, so sunny and uplifting. edit: I forgot how to add links to the perfumes, I thought it was with the use of " ", but apparently not.

...You're welcome. The last time I was at the Shiseido The Ginza boutique, they didn't have the bell jar bottles. That was 3 years ago or so (I live in Osaka, not Tokyo). I doubt they have them now, because when I see a rare jar bottle pop up on the Japan yahoo auction site it always says "bought in Paris" and they get snatched up in a second. Have fun on your trip.

...my favourite is Ylang Vanille. It's sunny and soft, but also warm and comforting. I find it easy to wear all year round, and it's pretty close to being something like my signature.

I would just add that Serge Lutens can be found in some department stores in the fragrance section, most often in the men's section, not at the Shiseido makeup counter. The fragrance selection in Isetan Shinjuku Men's store (different building from Isetan Shinjuku) is great. Regarding Shiseido perfumes, they are usually sold at Shiseido counters in drugstores. Tauer - new Explorer 15ml sample sets

... Triffid: I just received a notification from Tauer Perfumes advising that four new perfumes have been added to the selections available in the Explorer Set. These are: 01 Le Maroc Pour Elle, 04 Reverie au Jardin, 07 Vetiver Dance and Zeta. There is an introductory offer of a 20% discount on these ones until Feb 14. None are my personal faves but with the 15ml size, sometimes 'like' can be good enough to make up a set. Thank you for the information. I checked that 15ml sampler set a few months ago and didn't order it bc it didn't include Le Maroc Pour Elle which is the one I wanted most. Now I can go and order a set :)

 ...I'm ordering several leather scent samples and decants trying to find THE ONE that will bring me to my knees. Some started out promising but were too clean in the drydown. I like me some dirty with my leather :) The search goes on...

This past week though I have been browsing eBay and bought some new perfumes. When my bill arrives next month, I'll probably say: I have been spending too much money...

...I have been less active on both sites, because of a sudden change in my personal life which allows me less time to "play" online. I find Fragrantica less and less stimulating, what with all the games going on. The same empty questions keep being asked over and over again, and anything interesting gets buried under the games and silly questions (often posted by the same person). So for now I am mostly reading reviews, discovering new scents, and for the time being this is sufficient for me. I will drop a line here if I have something possibly interesting to share. Happy smelling good to everyone.

Contradictions everywhere
 ...These rules are strange. Let me tell you about two mails I got from eBay sellers I bought from, both based in the UK. They both shipped the perfume on the same day, January 14th, the day that those new rules were officially applied. Seller #1 is a private seller, no big business, he sent me a decant. At the post office he was told that he would not be able to ship perfumes by airmail outside the UK any longer. Still, the postmistress accepted his parcel, it made it through customs and safely to my house. Seller #2 has a larger business, he sent me a full bottle. About a week after shipping the item out, he received a notice that the bottle would not be delivered to me, and that he couldn't retrieve his bottle either. He has changed all his sales to UK only now. Still, I see some UK based fragrance sellers (big businesses) that still list their perfumes as shipping available worldwide. These rules are applicable in most countries, but now and then (more often than not) perfume will slip through the net and arrive in its country of destination. Only last week I received another bottle of perfume from the USA, and it clearly said perfume on the customs form (sent with USPS). In my country of residence, they tell us perfumes can't be sent out by airmail, but on the other hand, import of perfume is allowed. Crazy, right? I have sent and received countless perfumes whether it is through swaps or just bought, and so far nothing has been lost. So now what? As other members have already stated: I don't foresee duty free sale of perfumes being abolished in the near future. Airplanes are filled with Diesel. Air travelers are allowed to travel with their perfume. We don't have any answers for the question as to WHY these rules are there. I'm sure it must be some kind of security issue. But again: there are too many contradictions in the whole thing to make it valid. That is my humble opinion.

...I haven't tried all the Tauer perfumes, but the one I like most, and full bottle worthy for me, is Lys du Desert, the limited edition he made for Lucky Scent. It is one of a kind, and it takes me to a happy place.

... Dalmajen: Eurochic: I got the big 200ml bottle of "Beige" and now I'm so bored with it. I wish they would sell smaller bottles of the Les Exclusifs line. I have to say also that one day a perfume may smell really nice on me, and the next day it may smell completely off. Does anyone know when is the best timing to try out a new perfume (talking about hormonal fluctuations here, sorry guys). I got the 75ml. Coromandel, mainly because I couldn't afford the bigger one! Just store your Beige away, and you will go back to it, it's too damn beautiful to ignore for long! It's normal to have off days, for fragrances etc. (especially for the ladies) . I think being bored with a fragrance is O.K, as you will come back to it. But when you start to really dislike it, that's when the love affair with the scent is over! Well, here in Japan they only sell the 200ml ones. It's ridiculous. I have put it back in the box and in a dark and cool drawer, maybe I'll go back to it. It's a pity it doesn't last though. I'm halfway through Coromandel, also 200ml. No regrets there ;)
