... Two things that got my attention: - The snobbishness of many Basenotes participants - The overreaction to some reviews and posts in Fragrantica I stopped participating in Basenotes. In the case of Fragrantica, I publish reviews and I post without any expectations; in the case I am confronted by over sensitive people through offensive comments, I don't reply and I report these comments to moderators. So far, it worked. What I like of Parfumo is that user's participation is the right one for avoiding obsessed members claiming territoriality, which at the same time leads to hyping preferences, byzantine discussions and whatnot. Besides, Parfumo's UI has a technical character that I do not find in the other sites.

... Yves Sain Laurent pour Homme during my 20s. Guerlain Vetiver during my 40s. Nowadays I don't have one, however I alternate Natura Esssencial Oud Vanilla with others.

... Aquí uno, de Argentina. Basenotes se lleva a los locales que son snobs, y Fragrantica.es a los que ignoran reglas de ortografía. Igual disfruto de las críticas de los españoles mayormente por los palabras y frases del habla informal.

... Santino here, from Buenos Aires, Argentina; a fraghead since Father bought me Signorricci 1 in 1978 - I am sixty. I already fell in the rabbit hole. First a Basenotes exile and now an ex participant in the English edition of Fragrantica. I am a University professor specialized in Business Administration. I am looking forward to a healthy, no nonsense, no snobish, well written exchange of opinions, read and write reviews.

... True Tobacco? I mean tobacco leafs, not aromas used in tobacco blends. Cigar Commando, Latour. Michael Kors for men. Somehow unrelated - sorry about that. It gets my attention how tobacco can be blended so differently. I bought blind two leather and tobacco scents. One delves in the direction of the femenine side of things, a totally unexpected thing and not something bad per se for it is a quite discreet scent. The other one is truly masculine, however very very medicinal. My experience with tobacco leafs was limited to the original Michael Kors for men and Cigar Commando by Latour. These two smelt worlds away. A total surprise. I am not mentioning the houses, it is useless, one is a very small local house operative since the 1920's without any presence overseas; the other one is new, and as the other, they do not sell overseas. Plus I don't want this to be read as a pitch or promotion.

... It gets my attention ranting and bad-intentioned replies, reviews in languages foreign to the edition of the site and the myriad of badly written reviews - orthography skills by many fraganticians are limited. Better look elsewhere. This might be the place.

... Sometimes during the Summertime our neighbors from Brazil send us Argentines a pretty good sample of what the tropics are - hot, humid, scorching days. ... I have Sycomore, Encre Noir, Carven's (vintage), Givenchy and two by Zara. I would say Guerlain's. However, I tried Zara's Intense Vetiver and it is a really nice rendition of vetiverol with some vetiveria zizanoide.
