Lovely Warm Spicy and Tobacco - Woody Scent
Excellent Fragrance ! Elegant, Classy and Airy with main Theme: Tobacco. The king of the inexpensive Cherry and Tobacco perfumes that costs more than this price ! I love Burberry London but Cigar launched in 1996 , Ten years before it. It has High Quality Composition and Lovely Masterful Well-Blended. It opens up with a bit sweet fresh spicy and earthy notes in the background then dry down is semi sweet cherry pipe Tobacco and woody. It smells so good and very pleasant , This is suitable for the Cold Weather. I'm so happy that I have it in my collection and I really enjoy it. Longevity is good. Highly Recommended.
Thumbs Up.
Bravo Remy Latour !

In Bad Company
First of all, the tobacco note is fantastic. If it were solely about that, the fragrance would undoubtedly land in the highest rating category. But unfortunately, the tobacco, I can't put it any other way, is in poorly reputed company.

The opening of Cigar is alcoholic, fruity, and hefty. I have nothing against a perfume that hits you right away, but here the whole scenario feels a bit oppressive. All the components listed in the top note are undoubtedly present, but instead of charming the limbic system in a nuanced and sensual way, it resembles a bowl of compote being dumped over you.

The tobacco only develops slowly in this syrupy environment. However, I would like to describe this part as thoroughly successful; the build-up is exciting and takes its time. Subtle at first, it reaches a rich, spicy, and simultaneously fresh spectrum as it progresses. You can almost imagine moist tobacco leaves in front of you. Perfect.

In the drydown, to my great regret, it goes back down to the basement. It becomes soapy, but by no means refined or romantic, which I would have found quite pleasant. I would describe the impressions as piercing, old-fashioned, creaky, and bony. Synthetic, moreover. It goes so far that a penetrance is reached which I can only find disturbing. I have tried Cigar twice, reluctantly keeping the fragrance on my wrist each time in anticipation of a turn for the better. A third time is unfortunately not an option. What a shame.

Chapeau Monsieur Latour
Cigar is indeed a well-crafted and finely tuned tobacco scent. After spraying, it presents itself relatively strong, but not exaggerated. In the beginning, during the first half hour, I smell Burberry London, although not with the same sweetness, but drier, and mainly in the sillage that I keep catching from my arm. You can also detect something fruity at this point, probably the interplay of the top note with the heart note.

Shortly after, you can already perceive this wonderful, fresh tobacco, which becomes stronger as the initial fresh floral notes fade away, until only a light vibe of the top note remains and you can fully enjoy it in the base. I can easily imagine one of the numerous barns in Cuba or the Dominican Republic where tobacco is dried and the freshly cut tobacco is processed.

Unfortunately, I have issues with the longevity of Cigar, as I often do with other fragrances. I can't say exactly how long it lasts, as it varies greatly with this scent; sometimes I smell it longer and sometimes shorter...

What I can say for sure: Cigar captivates me as long as it is there and makes me eager to reapply again and again!

I really like the bottle; I own the current model with the integrated sprayer in the cap that works well. The golden emblem on the front looks beautiful and conveys the impression of tied cigars.

Cuban
The name fits almost perfectly. Cigar does not smell like cigars but rather like a blend of freshly picked and already dried tobacco leaves. This green freshness runs through all phases, only to be softened at the end by patchouli and a bit of musk. In the thicket of mainstream Klondike fragrances, this fresh tobacco field warmed by the orange evening sun of Cuba is a welcome change. There will probably be hardly anyone else wearing this scent. Of course, many will be put off by the martial but also somewhat cheap-looking bottle. It looks like a magazine or some kind of minigun. As a fan of 80s action movies, Cuba, jungles, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, I felt subconsciously drawn to the design. Look past it and enjoy a truly good, naturally fresh tobacco scent.

Aramis' "Havana", implemented more stringently, perhaps a bit clunky
I once had "Havana" by Aramis. I hesitated to buy it for a long time because it seemed too piney to me in the store. Then I got it anyway, found it quite nice for a while, but after a quarter of a year, I sold it again.
It just didn't work out between us; aromatically it spreads too far, somewhat confusing, the actually beautiful tobacco is too concealed for me.

Rémy Latour's "Cigar," now, actually cheap and tacky in presentation, seems to be quite an improvement over the Aramis scent concept.

More straightforward, more stringent, simple if you will - but more beautiful, more masculine, simply more Cuba, cigars, Caribbean feeling!

The many fruits and fruity notes listed above are hardly noticeable; at best, a hint of smoky plum appears, touched by a bit of fresh basil.

Central is, becomes, and remains quite quickly the tobacco core, slightly unripe green tobacco leaves mix with dried brown leaves, and slightly earthy aromas rise from the fertile Vuelta Abaja soil of Cuba. Slightly sour, slightly vegetal, fresh and distinctly masculine. Perhaps a bit too obvious, that could be seen as criticism.

Even though the scent shows little development - the scent concept alone is already quite convincing.

I would like to compare it to Aramis Havana, which makes sense: bergamot, fruity notes, basil, spicy tobacco, geranium, wood.

I don't understand why Cigar doesn't get much attention here, it's a very nice tobacco/wood scent! With great attributes. Similar to Absolument Homme.

Reformulated? I can't smell it anymore after 1 hour. H+S extremely weak. The best part of "Cigar" for me is the pretty tin can.

CIGAR - the name says it all - fantastic light citrus start, with the tobacco making its presence known early on and dominating the scent.
