Mercedes-Benz Club Black with a bit of plum
Not much is known about Rave for Women.
I took it anyway for €8 at the time, you can't go wrong for the low price, I thought.
In the worst case scenario, it would be sold again for €6-7.
But in the end I kept it, even though it smells amazingly similar to another fragrance in my collection.
The perfume I'm talking about is "Club Black | Mercedes-Benz".
About the fragrance :
I find the opening terrible.
Something smells like iron or metal or even rust and that paired with an artificial, sweet vanilla.
Club Black, on the other hand, starts more pleasantly but still alcoholic.
There are still big differences in the first few minutes.
In the DD, this unpleasant metallic note slowly disappears.
What remains is this beautiful creamy, powdery vanilla as we know it from "Club Black | Mercedes-Benz" and a sweet plum.
Something also smells almost minimally leathery, I can't explain what it is.
I don't smell any plum in Club Black, otherwise both fragrances are about 90% similar at that point.
The longer you wear the Rave, the more the plum fades into the background, until after 10 minutes I can hardly detect it at all.
From that moment on, there is virtually no difference between the Sapil and the Mercedes in the air.
The Sapil is then a little darker and spicier, but otherwise really, really close to the original.
However, the original still has a slightly higher quality, it has to be said.
I don't notice the floral notes, maybe a little iris, but this note is not really present for me either.
Instead, there is something very reminiscent of vanilla, although that is not listed here.
It's probably the combination of different notes that makes it smell like vanilla.
A really great unisex fragrance that I don't just see on a lady.
A man can wear it just as well without smelling feminine.
In terms of performance, I was very surprised by the durability.
After 16 hours, it was still clinging to my skin.
Then I had to wash myself, I could imagine that it would have easily lasted 20 hours.
But the radiance is rather moderate.
My conclusion :
If you have the original, you don't necessarily need this one.
If you love the original so much that you think to yourself, come on, for 8 euros I'd like an alternative, then Rave for Women is a really good investment.
