Faceless Love

10 CORSO COMO - love at first sniff!
I named it Faceless, because could not highlight any of the notes, this perfume is homogeneous like the air around us. I detected a bit soapy flower (tip: geranium + vetiver), and raspberry as big surprise (tip: ... no tip).

I hope that oud will not discourage people who do not like this note, since it is not perceptible at all.

As always, I had "control group", and I have to say, that the fragrance does not change too much by personal chemistry. Also gentlemen feel free to wear it, I am quite sure that it is beautiful on men as well.

10 Corso Como is all dry, lofty sandalwood, smoky desert resins, and earthy, weirdly off-kilter - almost alien or at least otherworldy- florals. It calls to mind a mysterious, aromatic wooden chest, unearthed by a strange sandstorm. At once both sensual and spiritual, and without a doubt a very, very handsome scent, I find myself frequently craving it and nothing else will do.

In a wooden cabin

The combination of sandalwood, incense and resins is very soothing and relaxing in this composition - it’s like you are sitting and meditating absolutely alone in a wooden cabin somewhere deep in the forest. A fragrance for a special mood and occasion.

Rebel Blood!

Who knows Willi Maucher from Alfter near Bonn? During the Nazi era, he secretly put up posters against Hitler with a friend who was a chaplain and likely had contacts with the Cologne Edelweißpiraten. The farmers in the village were aware but covered for him. Eventually, he was betrayed, which led to his imprisonment in a penal camp in Emsland. Even after the war, he remained a rebel. The Stations of the Cross he established through the blackberry gardens to the excursion restaurant Heimatblick, with prayer stations against war, nuclear armament, and the founding of the Bundeswehr, can still be visited today.

Willi Maucher was the rebel from the Vorgebirge, and he sold his blackberry wine as "Rebel Blood."

And the top note of this perfume smells like rebel blood. Very alcoholic, very wine-like, until the penny drops - rebel blood! Accompanied by a classic Arabic rose-oud combination. This is strangely light, unfortunately only present in the top note.

Soon, the rose and oud fade away. However, a dark fruit remains, now resting on an intense sandalwood note. Vetiver kicks in and makes the scent quite dirty and a bit herbal.

Overall, it is a fruity-woody scent. As such, it is well made, but I particularly don’t like this fragrance direction. In this combination, the wood is too present, too black, too charred. Besides the sandalwood, the note of cashmere wood might have been involved - it often stands behind this charcoal-like, reminiscent of sweet wood or licorice expression. The blackberry wine note that I perceive remains nice and pulls it back up a bit.

Better buy yourself a bottle of real rebel blood!
