7Scent 6Longevity 6Sillage

Everything fits, nothing paradoxical

Scent post from Mrs. A. from B., *yay*. Included is a little card, ..I would appreciate a comment…. Hm, because at the moment I have little desire and time for scents, for Parfumo, for comments. So, off with the samples into my handbag and first just relax.

Two weeks have passed, I rummage through my handbag looking for my key card. I already have the sample of Paradox in my hand. Well, if it pushes itself so insistently to the forefront, come here darling, now it’s your turn. A wave of lipstick accord like in Lipstick on hits me, not bad, I suspect creamy iris. This note disappears, to my regret, faster than a flash in the sky and makes way for a strong hairspray note with fresh lime, not unpleasant. Orange blossom spreads out, neat and nice. Now Paradox reminds me of Brit Rhythm. I know that I have read Angua's comment on the scent, but I can’t remember either the scent description or the ingredients. On top of that, I’m annoyed that I’m testing at the office; I would love to spray Brit Rhythm for comparison directly. And I can’t check the scent ingredients on Parfumo right now, the firewall in the office has been tightened *sigh* and my phone battery is dead. The sillage is quite decent for a sprayer; while writing, the scent keeps rising to my nose. In the next three hours, Paradox weakens, but hardly changes; I smell powdery, slightly sugared orange blossom and something floral that I can’t quite identify, maybe the iris from the beginning as well as light musk. Then I forget to sniff; during my lunch break, I remember my test again. Oops, Paradox is gone, completely. The longevity is between 4 to 5 hours, but with very restrained spraying. The sillage is strong in the first hour, then in the medium range.

Conclusion: A powdery, linear floral, not bad, but I miss something. A slight similarity to Brit Rhythm is undeniable after a comparison, but Brit offers lavender and that fine leather note, which makes the scent more interesting for me. Paradox is an uncomplicated, fresh companion for spring to autumn and probably not the best choice for guys.

P.S. The supposed iris must be the violet. Mrs. A. from B. has the much finer nose :o)

Thank you dear Mrs. A., the remaining samples will accompany me on vacation and hopefully rekindle my desire for scents.

Perfume and lack of enthusiasm? You don't notice it at all, but we all know it from time to time. Great comment that gives me a sense of the scent. Wishing you a wonderful and relaxing vacation!!

But you don't work in North Korea or China because of the strictly controlled internet access, right?

I like your entertaining comment and can really imagine the scent. I hardly know anything about iris and violet. You all have such good noses. Sometimes I just want to enjoy it without dissecting it! :o)

Well, a tightened firewall blocking Parfumo - that's just not acceptable - complaint to the works council! The paradox is your moodiness about your current lack of interest in perfumes. This scent probably isn't for me.

No trace of perfume fatigue in your comment - it sounds quite interesting, but I'm currently cautious with iris & co. :-)

Iris - it's not so easy to distinguish from violet roots. They're often offered as a blend. Yes, that's how it is when you do a blind test. I like that. (Your comment, of course, now)

That doesn't sound bad at all and certainly not paradoxical! We should definitely rely more on our own noses than on any ingredient lists... So: Light - Scheffel - no!
