Clean Makes Fun

If you want to smell like you've just showered, then just take a shower! Nonsense, the great thing about perfumes is precisely the ability to extend the ephemeral and carry that good feeling of freshness with you for a while longer. Clean scents have seemed somewhat interchangeable to me until now. However, after recently discovering the fantastic thread by Peanut in the forum titled "Parfumos' Compiled Clean Scent Knowledge," it became clear to me that there is still much to explore in this area and that clean scents can indeed be quite multifaceted and nuanced. My current favorite is Kid Mohair.
Kid Mohair is the wool of the Angora or Mohair goat, and Kid Mohair, the fragrance, is part of a perfume line that leans into the theme of wool ("Le Vie della Lana" - "The Road of Wool").
The description of a fragrance enveloping the wearer like a warm cashmere sweater has almost become a cliché due to its frequent use. Perhaps the Mohair sweater isn't a suitable analogy since it sheds too much? In any case, Kid Mohair does not remind me of wool; it has nothing enveloping or cozy about it, it is simply a beautiful, nice clean scent! "Nice" may sound a bit boring, but here it leans more towards being pleasant, unobtrusive, subtle, and fun.
Yes, it starts with mango aromas that remind me not of real fruits but of the scent of mango yogurt or fruity fabric softeners and shampoos, which somehow feels amusing. As it develops, the mango transforms into a soft, white peach; perhaps that's the Osmanthus, which sometimes exudes such a lovely fruity aroma. The musk is never sharp but smooth, as if it has helped to gently and evenly blend the fruity notes into the base. And it does so until hardly anything remains of patchouli and amber.
After about an hour, a hint of rose emerges, and the playful atmosphere of the beginning slowly fades; it now smells more serious, very feminine, and even more distinctly like a fresh scent. It is a clear summer freshness, without cool nuances. Skeptics of this fragrance genre will likely remain critical of this freshness kick, but for everyone else (primarily women), it is definitely worth a test! Kid Mohair has a carefree aura and puts me in a good mood. Clean scents are for me like reduced-fat sausage; there remains a craving for more. But on some days - perhaps on those of olfactory saturation - less is indeed more. Or, since it is only perceptible from up close after four hours, one simply switches to a new, juicier fragrance at noon.

It’s probably more like cotton with a touch of silk ;-) That can be soothing on some days, yes! Osmanthus and rose sound tempting to me...
