Virens Acqua di Stresa 2016

Green, youthful, blooming, fresh are the terms that can be used to translate 'Virens'.
None of these apply to this fragrance for me.

Shortly after spraying, a strong spicy note is noticeable. Artemisia, saffron, and the straw flower are probably responsible for this. It quickly becomes leathery. The rubber note mentioned in some comments remains elusive to me.

After about an hour, there is no trace of the spiciness left. Leather and resin now dominate the development of 'Virens', with a fresh woodiness joining in after another hour.

The wood, the resin, and receding leather, this is how 'Virens' slowly fades over the next few hours.

'Virens' has a longevity of about seven hours, and the projection quickly becomes intimate. The fragrance can be worn for all occasions; it is always pleasant and never intrusive. Not tied to a specific season, I would still use 'Virens' in cooler temperatures.

Now it's her turn, the sample from Virens. I completely follow the image of the rubber boat and the tanned forearms with the first spray. I like it too much to forget it. This opening is perfectly suited for Gomma fans, like both of us. However, this scent comes across as less sleek from the start than the Etro. It's a heavily pumped-up rubber boat, so to speak. And did they perhaps pour in some vanilla, or a protein drink at the end?

Virens means, when looked up, greenish, blooming, youthful. For me, AugustA, the scent feels more like a fully grown virile pleasure. A bit of fir green to the rubber-resin, yes, sure, but there’s also a thick cigar involved. This gentleman here is wearing a coarsely knitted, scratchy wool sweater on deck. Thick leather boots. This rubber boat captain looks experienced, serious, and quietly gazes into the distance, with a cigar stub in the corner of his mouth. He wears an old, weather-beaten, and very smoky jacket. Wool or rubber gear, depending on the weather. We sail for a few hours. It’s windy.

After about three to four hours, it gets quite boisterous, from virile it now becomes heavily virulent, without a slight cough and a scratchy throat, at least for AugustA, it doesn’t go away before finally going below deck and hanging up that smoky old jacket. The scent pulls back to the skin, becomes calmer, and all in all, it's something like cozy.
A shot to warm up wouldn’t be bad right now and would have fit in nicely at the end.
After about five hours, the ship disappears back on the horizon, leaving behind a mild cigar trail. We won’t get that out of our clothes anytime soon.
