What is Nu?

At the moment there is, I think, no fragrance that is so well received as "Blue Silk".
Finally I could test it - and am a little surprised.

The fragrance reminds me very much of "Nu" by Saint Laurent. I have in the house, unfortunately, only the sample of "Nu (2011)" and could only compare with this; he is in the top note a little brighter and more floral than "Blue Silk". The old variant of "Nu" would be even more similar, if I remember correctly.

"Blue Silk" is a very inexpensive fragrance, plus it's new and being actively tested, that's the only thing I can use to explain its success. And yes, it is a nice fragrance: spicy in the opening, a little darker in the heart, powdery-sweet in the base. I like it much better than the "Secrets d'Essences - Accord Chic" given as a fragrance twin. I also like its restraint.

However, I like even better "Nu (2001)", it is more radiant, complex, spicy, has much better sillage and durability. In addition, he lacks this dull, rubbery note, which I perceive in "Blue Silk" to the base. This may be due to the juniper, I often have trouble with it.

So what does "Blue Silk" have that "Nu (2001)" does not?

I know both ( Blue Silk only since yesterday),
but I found Nu softer. (The one in the silver round bottle). Blue Silk I find very successful on the body, would wear it less on the wrist.

I like powdery, but I often have problems with spicy scents. They don't really work for me.

Then I don't have to worry because I don't know Blue Silk yet. ;)

I could test Nu (2001) recently and find the scent to kneel down. A serious alternative would be great. Would that be Blue Silk or Nu from 2011 for you?

@Pluto: You have tested the new Nu variant, it is more flowery. The old one is spicier - although I find both variants spicier than Blue Silk, which is a bit dull for my nose. They're not perfect twins, I see it that way.

I like Blue Silk better, find it spicier.

After test I would say no scent twin, but they play the same league :o)

I'm wearing it for the first time today and I'm anything but thrilled. GsD, I didn't get the whole bottle.

Since I didn't like the NUvon YSL, much too spicy for me, I don't need to test it at all. Thank you. I'll take care of it

Nu is more beautiful, even if for me a completely different fragrance, in which incense plays the leading role. I could never wear it, it was always too elegant for me, Blue Silk is more pleasing. And it's hyped, like so much here, it's true, but with the price you can just have fun with it:-)

I'm wondering if I ever had Nu in my face?

I wanted to test this one from time to time and I'd like to test it right away. Sounds interesting, but I'm not sure that's my direction. (Wonders AugustA)

"Nu" was my first thought after spraying on :) I immediately counter-tested: the new nu is lighter and more floral in the top note, from the heart note on the scents are very similar for my nose. My favorite is the old "Nu (2001)".

So what does "Blue Silk" have that "Nu (2001)" doesn't? -> He still exists. ;) I don't know Nu, but I also see a tendency of similarity in the comments. Perhaps it is simply due to the agency's marketing (which is hardly available in Germany). :)

Important = bulkier

I was unusually carried away, too. But he doesn't have much with Nu, in my opinion. Nu is much heavier and more important - at least the vintage version. At most a little of the powdery one he has, nothing more.

Haha, yes, I asked myself just yesterday what that is about this fragrance, which everyone, even people who don't like the same thing at all, obviously finds so great. And just yesterday I ordered it blind. Now I'm waiting for the scent to come and make my own picture. I'm curious. I don't know the two "reference scents" and of the agents I have already found some great and some unbearable. The tension is rising...

If I may have a say as a man... I was also able to test Blue Silk recently and find it very successful. The fact that it is just so popular is on the one hand due to its low price and on the other hand to the fact that it stands out pleasantly from the other fruity, flowery and fresh standard mush. Of course not every fragrance can please everyone. Well, I didn't get to know him, but maybe he'll get in my face sometime.

Accord Chic is reminiscent of Nu EdT, so resemblance could be... Thanks for the tip.

I know neither Blue, nor Nu, but nanu nanu, if even you already speak of restraint ... remains watch list Prio 2, one wants to be able to have a say nevertheless also. Oh, and I like juniper, even in perfume.

I only have a distant memory of Nu and would not have thought that there could be similarities. But I'm pretty sure that Nu doesn't have one thing, the animal I saw in Blue Silk. He immediately moved out again, so I can't tell anymore whether it was rubber rather than animal, at least it disturbed me.
