Yesterday we were sitting together on the couch, watching the news and testing fragrances. No, not true, I was testing and my husband had to test Gold because I wanted to know how it smells on men's skin. I can only spray something on him after prior notice; I had already reported that the poor guy had a nightmare in which I was lurking behind the door with an oversized perfume sprayer to spray him. After I kept holding out my right and left arm to him and asking "And?" only to sniff his arm shortly after, he looked at me and dryly said: "This sniffing, like with dogs."
And now to Isis. The dear Lotti sent me a generous sample of this fragrance, thank you very much for that. At first, I couldn't read the writing and was puzzled. Nothing helped, I had to ask her. Isis, an agonist, oh, oh, I thought. Black Amber, the first agonist I tried, had shown me the cold shoulder, up to here and don't come too close. Isis was on my watchlist, so I became curious once again through a comment. I refrain from studying the fragrance ingredients and boldly attempt a blind test. Sweet, juicy orange, a bit peppery, and after a few minutes, bittersweet chocolate, that's how Isis greets me. Very intense, but not in a piercing way; the sillage seems to be quite present. A fruity-green, spicy gourmand develops on my arm, I find the scent quite tempting, at least my nose keeps returning to my wrist. This fragrance is appealing and bright, but also a bit strange in its mix of fruity sweetness, bittersweet chocolate, and green sharpness. Towards the base, it becomes a bit earthy; I can still sense vanilla.
I rate the longevity as medium to strong, as well as the sillage. At work, the scent would bother me; I find it quite intense and would prefer to wear it in my free time or in the evening. Unisex yes, but only for gentlemen who like it sweet.
Isis is interesting, no question. However, I believe that it could also annoy me after "longer wear," so this fragrance is not a candidate for purchase for me. But now and then, I will gladly wear it.
I wore it exactly 4 times in the summer. Four nights of dancing at a beach bar. Caribbean, Brazil, Africa vibes. It was great for that, fitting, and it lasted, and lasted, and lasted... I think in closed spaces it might be really - phew! :)
I probably won't like it that much because of the vanilla, but it's on my watchlist. I'm curious. I had to chuckle at the sniffing story. I have a sniffing corner in my living room, and my husband just looks amused when I'm sitting there...
I do enjoy something a bit sweeter sometimes, but this Agonist didn't really convince me either. I definitely missed the vanilla in the base. But it's great that it worked for you! Awesome comment, thanks and trophy.
Chuckling, if your poor man is already having nightmares... I definitely shouldn't spray without asking, or the harmony in the house would take a hit. But my sweetheart always sniffs me with great interest and gives unsolicited comments.
Previous announcement... and then you spray. I have to ask first ;o)
Your comment sounds interesting - but despite the sweetness, I’m sticking to my guns and not adding it to my wishlist.
My husband would probably lynch me - without warning! :)) I know plenty of scents like that. They're beautiful. They're interesting. They smell good. But really, they prefer to smell good for themselves. So elitist and self-absorbed.
