Let's be honest, Layton is fantastic, but the price tag? Ouch. This $20 dupe, however, is shockingly close. While a trained nose might detect subtle differences—a touch more apple and initial alcohol, slightly less spice and menthol, and a bit more vanilla in the dry down—the overall impression is remarkably similar. In the air, no one will be able to tell the difference. My own family couldn't distinguish between the two in a blind test. Sure, Layton has a richer, more natural feel, but for a fraction of the cost, this dupe delivers incredible performance with great longevity and projection. Insane value is an understatement.
