Memories of Italy...

...come alive when I use Femina again: Summer 1993, vacation with my best friend in Cattolica, the sea (where we didn't go swimming even once), the sun (which we mostly slept through during the day and got sunburned), parties (oh yes, many parties!) and of course a summer romance (that's just part of it:-).

Shopping was a secondary concern back then, we had much better things to do. On the few daytime excursions we took, I discovered a small perfumery in a side street. In the display stood a beautiful bottle that I couldn't walk past, it fascinated me. At that time, I was already collecting fragrances, buying them simply because I liked the look, just like this one.

But aside from the beautiful packaging, the scent still blows me away today! For me, it's absolutely unique!

It starts fresh, but only slightly aquatic, rather green-fresh, which is probably due to the ivy leaves; the sweetness from the fruits lasts only briefly. Immediately, it becomes softer, a bit more robust, the violet leaves emerge, creating a velvety, enchanting powderiness. Various flowers come together, uniting into a whole - and yet, suddenly a jasmine flower appears, clear and distinct, then disappears again, replaced by a lovely mimosa. In this phase, it stays with me for up to 6 - 7 hours. The fruity notes remain completely in the background for me, and I'm glad about that.

For me, Femina is a very, very special fragrance, incomparable to anything I know. So completely different from today's sweet-floral and fruity fashion scents. I think it can be worn anytime; for me (especially because of the memory) it's a summer fragrance and somehow so typically Italian...:-)
