Watermelon in Winter...

This scent has - despite the summery watermelon - something winter-fresh for me! Almost with a slightly metallic note! I perceive the watermelon very clearly, alongside the floral-cool notes.
I bought it (in a small pink bottle) soon after its release in 1993. Recently, I also added a specimen in this wonderful snail shell-shaped bottle.

I would like to dedicate this comment to a dear person from my past: a former colleague and friend, whom I helped move to Berlin in early 1994. Since I was wearing the newly acquired "Femina" at that time, I will always be reminded of her! We both worked in a university research lab in the early 90s, and she was wholeheartedly dedicated! Day and night she could be found in the lab, every weekend, she never took a vacation! Highly sensitive, ambitious, enthusiastic she was! For me, she was also a bit of a role model... But I often saw her in despair - over poor results and the moods of our supervisor! Only with great difficulty could she complete her degree. I myself literally "threw in the towel" after a year under the poor working conditions there and tried my luck at another university at the end of 1993 - successfully (see comment on "Que Viva").
But she persevered until the end, then went to Berlin, to her then great love - also a researcher. Unfortunately, I never saw her again after the move! From other sources, I learned that she soon left basic research to become a sailing instructor. Maybe that was indeed the better decision... I too said goodbye to research a few years later... and have never regretted it!
I hope she ultimately found her happiness!

I only perceive the watermelon as a well-groomed, fresh touch that pleasantly lightens the scent. It brings back nostalgia. I also hope that my colleague is happy today!

New paths are sometimes the only way to survive. Good decision! I take the scent out of the cabinet sometimes just to smell it; I would never wear it. Memories, like yours, of a person, for me of someone who is sadly no longer here.

Memory trophy! It's amazing what comes to mind when writing about fragrances.
