Hafez 1984 has an unusual opening. I don't know if I'd call it repulsive. It just ain't good. The first thing that came to mind was as if someone made tobacco brownies or tobacco cake. Luckily, it only lasts about 5 minutes. After that, I was in heaven. Awesome tobacco fragrance with a touch of sweetness and really nice vanilla, booze and earthiness. Very masculine scent.
Performance is spectacular. Strong sillage and projection while longevity for me was excellent at 12 hours. Definitely getting a bottle of this one. Also very versatile - understanding that it is strong. Would even work on warm summer nights. It's so good.
Highly recommended if you like tobacco fragrances. Note that Hafez 1984 is not a dupe but an original creation by Alexandria.
Good review. My experience with Hafez 1984 is similar to yours. You must be prepared for its aggressive introduction. I completely understand how it may be off-putting to many, but I like it. Hafez 1984’s opening is not as harsh nor lingers as long as Red Tobacco’s. The harsh opening of Red Tobacco lasts for 20 mins or more to my nose. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
