Not nearly as seductive as the advertising campaign
Rhubarb and rose can be beautiful when blended together and fine examples of this can be found in Tocca's Brigitte and Burberry's Brit Red. Unfortunately in Ricci Ricci the sugary and jammy berry-like notes makes this fragrance more of a teen fruity floral rather than an exotically sensual spiced floral.

It's perhaps not as sweet as the previous Nina, with Ricci Ricci being much darker and richer, and minus the apple note. I get an odd berry-flavoured bubblegum scent in the opening which rounds out to jam, then an earthy fruity and patchouli blend.

Apparently this fragrance is sexy, and I guess in some ways you could call it that. I know I won't be wearing this around my man anytime soon, but I'm sure young girls all over the world are loving this stuff right now.

Surprisingly I do not smell the tuberose or the rose note whatsoever, yet I do believe the rose may feature alongside the rhubarb and the jam note creating a tart-like finish in the heart.

The scent is dark, but not nearly as gothic and raunchy as the advertisement seems to suggest. I still think this is an appropriate scent for young girls, although on my 20 year old skin it felt incredibly wrong, with my friend commenting that I smelt like a jam factory.

Such a shame that I couldn't like this fragrance. The lasting power and the cute bottle made it good, but just not good enough.

Sweet sexy spicy
This is indeed a very sexy perfume, very long lasting with a pretty bottle too. I was very pleased to add this gem to my perfume collection as I prefer oriental, spicy and gothic perfumes. Best for winter but also suitable for a cool summer night while on vacation. Ricci Ricci is just a pleasant surprise, try it!!! p.s. it reminds me a lot of PR xs l'excess edp only less sweet.

Great bottle, great scent
This is fantastic! I blind bought Ricci Ricci because the bottle is completely adorable. I also just knew I had to try it, and that I'd probably like it, and I do. It's a keeper!

I will say that I don't really enjoy it until it has been on for about 45 minutes. The top notes are odd to me, meaning that I don't really get the rhubarb. My family used to grow and eat rhubarb, and that isn't what I'm getting here. What I do get that is odd is a "Tootsie Roll" vibe. Luckily, this is not a linear perfume, and soon that Tootsie Roll smell is gone and the tuberose shines through. Still a great balance between sweet and sour. In the end, the patchouli comes plowing to the forefront and kind of takes over. For whatever reason, my chemistry melds really well with patchouli, which surprises me. I cannot stand the smell of straight up patchouli, but within a perfume, it works!

Another thing about this perfume is that--to me--the smell gets stronger over time! At first, it's light and fresh (albeit redolent of Tootsie Rolls) and then it just blooms and explodes all over the place! I can't really rate the sillage; it amps up. Longevity is there 6+ hours, but I wish it were longer because I feel that I need to reapply it halfway through the day.

Overall, well done by Nina Ricci. It's great to see that they have not lost their touch. I can see myself reaching for this over and over again, especially as we are going into spring and summer.

A Learning Experience
I must first admit that I am still quite new to appreciating fragrances. As I don't personally know many fragrance enthusiasts, I'm learning the most from books, blogs, and various websites. I found Ricci Ricci sharp and medicinal at first, I was quite disappointed. The bottle is so adorable, the color so deep and pretty, I expected to love it at first sniff. I've only recently learned about the amount of time it takes each layer of a fragrance to bloom/develop, and this has helped me to understand this fragrance so that I can truly see if I enjoy it. The first burst has the astringent bergamot, but it seems to be only the pith. Combined with the tart rhubarb it's too spicy for my taste. Here is where I learned I had to have a little patience to realize this evaporates after just a minute or two. After that, a nice rose enters, wrapped around powdery white flowers. If there is tuberose, it doesn't show up as strongly as most tuberose scents do; it's understated. Together they are so pleasant, and feminine. After another 30 minutes or so, the patchouli edges in, and eventually somewhat rudely demands the stage, but the sandalwood refuses to be upstaged. The sandalwood effectively prevents the patchouli from stealing the thunder, and this ultimately dries down to a nice, if a little dry woody scent. It has indeed grown on me enough that I will keep it, especially since learning it has been discontinued.

Comforting Balm
After the loss of my dearly beloved little dog, I wander around the house feeling lost, pondering and staring into space.
Nothing interests or pleases me at all.

My husband is also deeply affected, but he was concerned about my desolate state and coaxed me to go thrifting, to my perfume dealer, to distract me a little.
Reluctantly, I trudged along.

I let my tired eyes wander over the offerings and discovered Ricci Ricci.
I had never gone wrong with Ricci fragrances, and after extensive testing, I wasn't in the mood.

Nina by Ricci had always been my fragrance against gloomy moods.
While I don't find Ricci Ricci quite as cheerful, it does have something uplifting, even though it comes across as more serious.
As the patchouli immediately reaches me in a pronounced and oriental-herb manner, I thought of a unisex fragrance.
However, this impression soon dissipates as the fruity - herbaceous rhubarb and the floral - herbaceous tuberose mix in.
The angel's trumpet gives the fragrance a heavenly - mysterious tone, and the rose makes Ricci pleasantly soft.
I think of my little angel in heaven.

Although I am still not fully in control of my senses, and concentration is difficult for me, I can still perceive that I have bought a good fragrance.

It has its soft, illuminating side, but also a certain herbiness and seriousness - just like life itself.
It fits my mood.

I am glad that it has distracted me a little, without being intrusive or overwhelming me.

Sweet rhubarb jam, creamy tuberose, a twinge of spicy headache. Baby's first poison. Felt very dark and mysterious when I was an edgy tween.

Rhubarb compote on roses. The angel's trumpet carries the scent in its essence. Long-lasting, fruity-sweet, especially. Woody undertone.

Ricci Ricci is a fruity-fresh-floral scent with good longevity and sillage. It has a beautiful freshness amidst the flowers.

Opulent sweet fresh floral-fruity mainstream dream, easily recognizable by the typical Nina Ricci note :-) Delicious snuggler!

Flowerbombing life is sooo beautiful - sure, we all copy each other - but STOP: my bottle is the coolest of them all! Yes!

Phew, this one just doesn’t work for me. Sweet, floral, fruity - it’s all too much, and it’s a bit overpowering and stuffy.

Oh fine memories. Very sweet, a bit sticky & floral fresh at the same time. Recognizable, nostalgic, pink.
H/S good, is it still available?:)

Fruity scent, intense-sour-vanilla-spicy. Not cheap fruit gummy. Dried fruit + tobacco notes = gourmand, creamy-synthetic. Trendy quality scent.
