Rosier and better blended than the EDP

Like the original EDP, Guidance 46 is so gorgeous. I get pear, pepper, and rose water at the top. Then a hint of menthol, salty ambergris, rose, and a little saffron. Rose, pear, and menthol (Akigalawood) persist through the drydown, and vanilla and sandalwood are revealed as well. There are a few differences between 46 and the original EDP: 46 features more rose and rose water, less pear, less ambergris, and a more muted sillage than the EDP. It is more well blended in my opinion than the EDP. They're different enough that Guidance lovers may want both. I think 46 is in the lead by a nose, just because the pear in the original is so over the top, I wonder if I'll get tired of it.

Have you tried Impadia yet?
A bit too akigalawoody for me, but you don't seem to mind. :)

@Chrysoptera people aren't used to saltiness in sweet compositions, that's all. :D
Impadia is a simpler scent profile, especially in the drydown which boils down to vanilla and spicy/chocolaty akigala.
The price proposition is $2 per ml though, so there's that.

I haven't! I am surprised that I like the pear and Akigalawood wood in Guidance/46 as much as I do. I was convinced to try the EDP since I saw so many reviews describing it as sexy and animalic. I ended up not getting anything animalic except maybe ambergris, which I think of as a bracing sea breeze.
