I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed. Sorry if I'm out of line there. I have the "Vintage" Interlude and I love the original vintage fragrances from Amouage, before everything was adulterated and the fragrances have disappointed me more and more.
I was hoping this Interlude 53 would be a bit like the original, that is, like BEFORE the reformulation and would bring back some of the good old Amouage days.
Indeed, 53 is a bit stronger than today's Interlude, but to me it clearly lacks the depth and darkness of the original formula. This isn't a beast, it's just a kitten now, quite a cuddly kitten to be sure which also meows properly loudly, but nothing like the original. This one was an ultimate cannon, black, with rough edges, it took no prisoners and never pandered. The scent of the incarnate. If you didn't like it, you had to change the side of the street to get away from him!
But this is more of a slightly stronger version of the already arguably westernized (sweetened) and already neutered Reformulation. Soft and cuddly. Almost suitable for the masses. Definitely good! But you must not hold the Vintage against it, otherwise the 53 goes baden.
Too bad, I hoped if the sells well, comes maybe a 53 series (Memoir, Jubilation etc...) But if they all become so, I'm definitely better off with the Vintage.
