Interlude Black Iris Amouage 2020

After I had some issues with my Interlude Man sample in everyday life and heard comments like "it smells kind of burnt, disgusting..." it unfortunately disappeared into oblivion. Although I liked it, it was special, but one quickly realized that either you have to not care what others think or the possible occasions shrink enormously. At least in classic German territory :-) Now I had the chance, thanks to a nice Parfumo, to get a leftover bottle of the often-cited Interlude Black Iris and I did it again. Blind buy. In the worst case, a beautiful bottle would adorn the collection for a long time and be used just as little as its brother. Curiously, I opened the box and sniffed at the spray head. "Yes, I know this scent, it smells exactly like its brother" were my first thoughts. Then... sprayed... Yes, there is hardly any difference... somehow equal... but wait... no, not really... or is it?... but then it becomes clearer - it differs and develops softer, more harmonious, the iris does its job and makes it equal/unequal to its brother. It never loses its identity, stays very close to Interlude but simply makes it a bit more pleasing, exactly what I had hoped for -> Equal, but somehow unequal
Longevity and sillage are perfect for a scent that belongs to the evening hours and going out for most. It stays slightly under "too much" in the sillage and is wonderfully present. On my skin, it lasts >15h, on clothing several days.
For me, it is close to perfect and the better choice within the Interlude duo (I haven't sniffed the 53 yet)
Dare to try it if you want a beautifully complex oriental scent that stands out without being too much of a nuisance.
