"descended into the kingdom of death"
...This is what many Christians confess in the Apostolic Creed. They confess that Jesus, after being laid in the tomb of the hill, descended into the kingdom of death, defeated death and rose again on the third day. Today on Good Friday is practically the beginning of his odyssey, the crucifixion of Jesus, with which the whole thing began.

In this passage from the Creed, I inevitably think of this brew of Amouage, which has given me so many headaches. It takes a lot of courage to find the perfume death itself. It simply smells of Smoke, of incense, as it is released in worship or as it is found in tombs, where one wants to leave a sign of life. Incense, incense sticks, that's what you smell like when you put it on. Cold, dead smoke, no sign of life. Actually, a good "smell" for Good Friday. A good "smell" to bury the joy of life for a day.

In fact, I tried twice with that monster. Twice he had to go again. The second time it was so bad that I had to take a shower immediately an hour after applying it because I got a headache. I also tried to smell out the other ingredients - except Smoke - I thought to myself that this must go, unfortunately in vain. The fact remains, I only smell Smoke. And it stays forever. Even after taking a shower there was still a slight waft of smoke to smell, which stunned me. I bet you've been showering with the beast for 24 hours. So for me it was the biggest fight I've ever had to fight with a perfume, especially because I love the Amouage house so much and wanted to be able to understand all the positive reviews. No, this is my limit of what I can smell. This is not a perfume, it is torture for the nasal mucous membranes and the best way to call in sick because of migraines.

Whoever nevertheless dares to taste this resinous-woody smoke bomb should be warned that it is not for the faint of heart. This one is a challenge. He will not be forgotten.

Once you finally get it off, it's like a kind of resurrection. You had to die the perfume death first, and then - freed from the smoky heaviness - start again into perfume happiness. Knowing that you have now conquered all the horrors of the fragrance world.

Nevertheless, I am happy for all those who can get something out of this one!

Apart from that, I wish everyone a blessed Good Friday and happy Easter holidays, enjoy the sun and life and think of the one who prepared this for us today.

Bene :)

Balanced resin mixture with a fine spice note
Well, how do you start a commentary on a frequently commented, well-known and controversially rated fragrance? Does it need my comment at all? Doesn't everybody already know how Interlude Man smells?
I don't want to judge all this, but I would like to classify the fragrance objectively and compare it with Midnight Oud, which is a wonderfully successful dupe and is mentioned again and again.
Interlude doesn't immediately start with that roasted oregano drone and the pimento's pungent appeal as you might expect. Rather, it is as if the fragrance is starting to take off, wanting to recharge itself, because the beginning is still harmless for the first moments, although you feel that there is more to come. The bergamot is given room to unfold. This gives the fragrance these impressive and profound nuances that set it apart from pure spice or incense scents, which initially give it the aura described above.
For comparison, these nuances actually go off Midnight Oud. Likewise, the opoponax is shorter in the copy, it influences the incense less. Without knowledge of Interlude, I would call both negligible, because Midnight Oud is successful.
But now that I know Interlude and the resin of myrrh makes the incense much more diverse, intense and in my eyes more exciting and radiant, I can't help but say that this is the 5% that raises the original one level.
This softness of sweet myrrh combined with the intense resin of incense, this is original, this has style. As time goes by, Interlude Man gradually opens up and also shows us how amber and cistus caress the resins, keep them in shape and seem to ensure the right amount. Fantastic; although rarely the resins combined with oregano are groundbreaking, the fragrance varies diligently and is the opposite of linear. Either way, we are a long way from the incense burners of the churches of this world.
You have to let yourself in on the scent in order to be able to fully grasp it olfactorically. Many people make the mistake and close their minds to the incense without giving the other scents the chance of perception.
A quick word about the base: the base notes are for me nothing more than the foundation on which Interlude was built. None of it stands out, everything supports the spicy and resinous notes in the best possible way. Patchouli you might be able to guess from the slightly earthy notes, oud I don't notice, leather even less.
Interlude is worth its money for me because of its small nuances, its more detailed elaboration if you like to wear such fragrances often and with pleasure. If you only find the fragrance exciting, if you only decide to use it every few months, you are better off with Midnight Oud as a 95% copy, at least in monetary terms. Amouage is a label that offers variety and is successful with several extremes. I would say that whoever likes Journey Man also likes Interlude. Conversely, due to the sharpness of Journey Man, this is not certain, because the allspice is there but not very sharp.
Of course you have to keep in mind: if you do not like intensive resin scents, you are completely wrong here. The scent is loud, intense and demanding. For lovers of such fragrances this is a single pleasure, for others too much. In fact the scent is not perceived by the environment as an intensive "smoke bomb" but as a fragrant scent with various associations ranging from Christmas market to anywhere else.
I, for one, could spend hours on the sofa smelling and sniffing my wrist. If only my wife wouldn't look at me as if I was mentally impaired ;)

the inner incense monster ...
...smells food; it gets lively!
Rightly so! Because frankincense is a fragrance of Amouage's Interlude Man But even with an enthusiastic incense monster: "Interlude Man" will live up to its name and remain an intermezzo!

Not because of the male alignment - it doesn't matter: I'm known as a border crosser!
And with all the corners and edges and spines, these rough-and-ready fellows are often closer to me than the lovely flower basket!
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that this year for me consists of a lot of interludes: many who fortunately made their way out of the dust; and some who I'm sorry for!
But now an intermezzo is not only an interlude; it can also be a connection between two poles, between two times.

"Interlude Man" will probably accompany me for some time; but this fragrance will not get the status of a "permanent companion".
Although it corresponds so completely to my smell Intension of the last time!

"Interlude Man" opens with herbaceous oregano, a nice spicy pimento; both cover the almost regularly present bergamot in the most interesting way. She is felt, constantly present!
Amber: how do I love these bright "amber threads" that permeate scents and evoke a balsamic magic.
Amber and his golden lights: dreamlike beautiful!
Before frankincense is satisfied and the "Venus resin" opoponax is established, the cistus rose appears.
Here not as resin - Labdanum - but in its original form: crumpled leaves and flowers and slightly herbaceous wood! (Very welcome to me in winter as tea and pastilles; the oil is a blessing for the winterly afflicted facial skin!)
It smokes and season and quarzt - nothing for sensitive smell bunnies!
Here the scented monster dragon is stepping with smoking nostrils!
After a kitchen herb prelude this is a joy for every fan of incense of any color!
Here is nothing timid, nothing groping or questioning: here prevails pure power!
Just to open the big gate to the sensual world of fragrance: Leather - often a counterpart to my feeling - is the forerunner to the fragrant finale!
Not heavy, not used or sweaty: a leather fragrance that is strong but appealing to the senses!
Oud must not be missing from this fragrance development: it has to be. A certain animalistic "nuisance" belongs to "Interlude Man"!
Here you can't afford half measures: "either as a frog or not at all!"
This fragrance creation becomes a little more civilized at the end with patchouli, another light spot in the fragrance, and sandalwood. I still love sandalwood very much!

"Interlude Man" is incredibly powerful, powerful and not just male!
Every male note also has a female part: we have to hug each other to be able to fly!
Therefore it is for me, despite the name, a unisex fragrance!
Because I want to fly and I need my other half!

As mentioned above, durability and Sillage are truly exceptional.
I must mention, however, that before I met "Interlude Man" (thanks be to Can!) I had no great luck with Amouage's collection: we didn't like each other!
If Can had not brought "Interlude Man" to my heart, I would never have had the idea to test this fragrance companion!

This "smoking man" has managed to inspire me; although I don't really like the brand.
That speaks for this scented monster!
I'm curious how long we'll live together.
As I said, an intermezzo is not forever!
But: let's have a look!

The perfume of complexity and fascination
I don't have to write much more about the scent process, because already experienced noses have expressed themselves
Anyway my perception discovers the first minutes a sweet smoky slightly fresh note which is not hiding but literally jumps out of all corners and edges and roars: HERE I AM, I AM ABOUT EUCH.
After about 30min a more and more smoky note appears, strongly present the very noble incense.
This remains so for now.
Still strongly present and roaring.
After several hours a very sweet, warm smoky note is added, which is very pleasantly sweet. This remains then also over zich hours.

So much for the subjective scent process on my skin.
My description of the fragrance

For me the fragrance is very deep and sensual at the same time.
The beginning symbolizes for me a roaring mighty being that fends off all evil within the scent cloud that protects you in the spiritual. But also this phase shows itself in the chaos of today. Hence the protection in chaos.

The 2 phase conveys profundity and to pay attention to one's feelings. This transmission is very important for your progress. (Feeling comes, feeling is felt, is accepted, is consciously perceived as learning and it can go again.)

The 3 phase shows me the sensual, the beautiful, the pleasurable. The chaos was overcome, the feelings perceived in order to be able to act correctly now. This phase is in abundance, contentment, happiness and financial wealth. What's the matter with you? The chaos was penetrated, the feelings showed, the life leads, the happiness helps, the goal fulfills.
Everything is characterized by sensuality.

How do I find happiness, financial freedom, etc.? Well, the fragrance is very high quality, unique, luxurious and creative. These criteria provide this perception.

This fragrance is extremely well suited to today's conditions, which are accompanied by many tensions. Now is the time to listen to his leadership/feelings, to learn trust, and to appreciate and love the world. Extremely important, especially at this time when one is led by the ego, exposed to external influences in a negative sense etc....
This perfume is so suitable for me because it connects with me and I understand it. I must admit, not everyone will understand it and not everyone will like it, because it simply smells different than the ordinary, and that is something to accept.

Now comes the complex work of this perfume or its name from "finding peace in chaos".
The two main notes frankincense and Oppoponax (incense resin) should purify the spirit and calm the soul according to descriptions.

Oppoponax should harmonize soul and spirit and have a very calming effect.

Incense should also have a relaxing effect, reduce nervousness and increase mental strength and much more.
Now comes the complex.
The Omani incense tree is a very special tree because it has a very good quality of this resin and is very deep in the process. What's that supposed to mean?
For the first time the Omani stand around the incense tree and communicate with the demon who is guarding the tree. (Demon because he has protected the tree for centuries). Only when the Demon releases the resin do they venture to the valuable resin. So the Omani Ritual

In Amouage fragrances the incense (silver incense) is exclusively one from Oman.

I wanted to show you how complex and spiritual a production can be from beginning to end, even if it is mass produced. Make your own picture in Oman where you can see Amouage in person:-)
Spiritually or not, the fact is the effort and the sense is great.
Conclusion
The fragrance is super unique, strong and polarizing, simply uplifting. For me, the scent of the present. No other perfume manages for me to achieve such depth in all my senses as this one.
I like it, I'm comfortable with it, despite my young age. Therefore, never categorize a perfume by age. I was allowed to learn to wear a perfume that I like and obs others might like is irrelevant.
With such thoughts one learns to be able to decide emotionally what applies to one and what does not.
Scent:9,5/10

Durability: 10/10 Really top, the longest lasting perfume I've tested. (I live in Munich and have tested a lot of perfumes) Really unique top.

Projection: 10/10. It's very wide, you're perceived. Even the end still projects strongly what I think is great.
Which song would be interlude man?
Clearly: Requiem for a dream.
Soo dear perfume friends, I hope I could make you a useful contribution.

Count Dracula Most Personal
Until the middle of the 70's there was a small successful English film company the Hammer Films. Her focus was on horror films. Especially the Dracula series with Christopher Lee as Count Dracula and Peter Cushing as Van Helsing are my absolute favourites. The scenery, the dialogues, the scary music of James Bernard and of course not to forget the acting performance of Lee and Chusing. Sometime in the middle of the 70's the classic horror genre was sucked out. There were new villains in the cinemas Michael Myers who ambushed babysitters at night, Leatherface with his favourite chainsaw toy, and of course ice hockey player Jason Voorhees. Hammer couldn't keep up with these new movies and the completely different circumstances and went bankrupt at the beginning of the 80's!

What's this all about? Why am I describing the career of a film company? The answer is coming soon but let's get to Interlude!
About 3 months ago I ordered a small 2 ml filling of Interlude Man and Reflection Man (which I didn't find so intoxicating). Waited a few seconds sprayed on my arm and suddenly pure horror. This is supposed to be the Interlude of which so much is raved, an Oriental masterpiece. Fie, devil! It smells like decay, like a cemetery like grave water, somewhere in between burnt rubber. I got so sick of it, but still I kept him on for 3 to 4 more hours, maybe he changes again? No, definitely not! Showering and down with the stuff, which didn't turn out to be easy because it was very intense. After a hard scrub, he somehow went down. Put the sample in the cabinet and best forget forever.

The weeks went by, could that be Interlude be the most disgusting perfume there is? A short time at the tester still smelled disgustingly repulsive. I didn't dare to go to the cupboard any more and just to look at the sample made me worry. Well, it has its advantages, too, you can piss off friends with it. Hey look, I've got a very nice perfume here, actually I was just thinking. You're about to experience your blue wonder, the mixture of hell will blow your mind. Nothing no reactions. They found it normal, for some it was even an Oriental Revelation that was addictive.

How is that possible? Why do I only smell burnt rubber and death? Disillusionment spread! Maybe it's just that this scent just doesn't suit me. Again the weeks passed I overcame my fear and applied it again on the skin. A splash should do the trick! Interesting, he doesn't smell very good, but I can stand it. A few days later again a splash granted. Tasty I smell incense, leather and a little bit of Oud.

Can that be a perfume that you couldn't suffer a little bit that you cursed is now bearable even rudimentarily good? The days passed again and it was slowly a little addiction, every evening a sprayer Interlude granted. Fall asleep with this wonderful fragrance from 1000 and 1 night and wake up in the morning.

I read the comments and statements again on Parfumo. Interestingly, one user describes a djinni, another sees in it the border to heaven and hell, yet another describes the scent as Dracula's signature. Dracula's signature. Sounds interesting. Is there a classic film by Dracula. At the moment I enjoyed watching the Hammer movies with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. I haven't seen them for a long time and was looking forward to finally seeing them in action again. Oh, there was something else. Fast to the cabinet, a spray shot, poured out of the atomizer on the arm and pressed on the play button.

The movie I remembered. Exciting, exciting, creepy, breathtaking. The beautiful backdrops, how simple everything was back then was no big special effects just acting performance. The eternal battle between good and evil. And there he was. Black hair, a long dark cape, including a chic black suit, big, strong, defining. Dracula and what he wore Interulde Man. I couldn't get off my wrist that night. And so I learned to love him!

Nice scent but I think there is better, especially since this smells to me like a more incense-heavy johnsons & johnsons baby shampoo. :)
