It seemed to be an entirely ordinary day, but soon I would be taught otherwise, that nothing is as it seems.
I dragged myself out of bed, washed up, made breakfast, fed the cat, got dressed, and then, as usual, went to my perfume cabinet. Today I am wearing my latest acquisition, the Overture Man.
I spray it on. A short hiss... total silence. I feel as if time stands still and everything around me blurs. When I looked in the mirror, I saw a Persian prince who looked like me. He grabbed me by the arm and pulled me into the mirror.
There I stood in ancient Persia at my father's deathbed, the Sultan, who smelled strongly of cognac and caraway. Around him stood elegant silver bowls filled with incense, enveloping the whole room in a light mist. Somehow, I was both irritated and pleasantly delighted by this amazing scent combination that came together in my nose. My father took my hand and weakly pulled me toward him. Soon you will take my legacy, my son! he whispered to me. Now I too would smell of incense, cognac, and caraway for the rest of my life. I could already see myself bathing in sheep's milk with a chamber full of gold and surrounded by 100 beautiful women who would fulfill my every wish.
BANG, POW something hit me on the head. Ouch, my cat had knocked over the broom, and the broom handle struck me on the head, bringing me back to the living room, where I was still standing in front of the mirror holding the Overture Man. What a crazy daydream that felt like it lasted for hours. A glance at the clock revealed that only a few minutes had passed.
It's great that this brilliant review got a boost from the podcast! So beautifully written, it really makes you want to try the scent - Amouage should hire you as a copywriter! 馃槈
I can negotiate with over 100 scents in our fairy tale of 1001 nights. But with 100 women, I'm out. So be careful 馃槈
