Purpose 50 rated higher than Purpose?
Man oh man, where to start with this review? I wore Purpose 50 and after a few hours, compared it to Purpose sprayed on one wrist. I would expect an extrait (and the much higher price) to give me a similar fragrance but with more depth, richness and strength. I really liked Purpose and put off adding it to my shopping list until I tried Purpose 50. So, my expectations were high. It turned out downright disappointing.
The notes between the two are almost identical, so I can't understand the difference. Purpose 50's opening killed it for me. I found the opening and following ~2 hours just plain repulsive. It was a weird, boiling vegetable type of scent to my nose. Definitely not something I want to smell like. After roughly 2 hours, it dried down to something resembling Purpose, but not as good. I'll leave it at that.
Purpose 50 has very good performance, but not really much better than Purpose. As you might guess, Purpose is now on my shopping list. It's truly a great Amouage unlike this unfortunate fume.
