harsh reality
Since I really like Pour Elle by Annayake, I was tempted today at the flea market by Miyabi.
But since testing was not allowed there, my inner voice warned me - and I put the bottle aside again.
A wise decision, because at home my husband handed me a sample of the fragrance.
If necessary, I could still rush to the stand and buy the bottle.
However, my dreamy image of lovely Japanese ornamental gardens, where delicate geishas gracefully stroll, shattered into atoms with the first spray.
A sharp, chemical opening ruthlessly shoved me into harsh reality.
I expected a gentle peach scent, and got something scratchy, reminiscent of disinfectant.
Reminding myself to be patient, I retreated to a quiet corner to give the fragrance time to unfold - but the clean yet biting character of scouring milk refuses to budge.
Despite all efforts, my nose cannot distinguish any further ingredients.
One good thing about this attempt - I no longer needed to venture out into the cold for another flea market visit.
Trial makes wise.
