harsh reality
Since I really like Pour Elle by Annayake, I was tempted today at the flea market by Miyabi.

But since testing was not allowed there, my inner voice warned me - and I put the bottle aside again.
A wise decision, because at home my husband handed me a sample of the fragrance.
If necessary, I could still rush to the stand and buy the bottle.

However, my dreamy image of lovely Japanese ornamental gardens, where delicate geishas gracefully stroll, shattered into atoms with the first spray.

A sharp, chemical opening ruthlessly shoved me into harsh reality.
I expected a gentle peach scent, and got something scratchy, reminiscent of disinfectant.
Reminding myself to be patient, I retreated to a quiet corner to give the fragrance time to unfold - but the clean yet biting character of scouring milk refuses to budge.

Despite all efforts, my nose cannot distinguish any further ingredients.
One good thing about this attempt - I no longer needed to venture out into the cold for another flea market visit.

Trial makes wise.

P.S. Fairly, I want to admit that the sample may not have been fresh anymore, even though it hasn't been in my possession for long.

interchangeable
I like Far Eastern fragrances - mostly.
Kenzo, Masaki Matsushima, Miyake, and also Annayaké have launched perfumes under their names that have delighted me to varying degrees, but foremost is Rei Kawakubo for "Comme des Garcons."
Despite the differences in character, expression, and presumably also target audience, all the Japanese-origin scents that have come my way so far have had one thing in common: They have a high recognition value.
At least for me.

"Miyabi" is different.
While Annayaké usually aims to bring "distinctively individual products" to the market, the previous comments should have indicated to me that this claim might not be fulfilled in this case.
No, "Miyabi" is by no means bad.
But "Miyabi" is also not what I know from other Annayaké fragrances.

On my skin, all the top and heart notes are skipped - no peach and no flowers are perceptible.
Immediately, there is an intense warmth; I can clearly identify amber and musk.
Quickly, a non-sticky, but for my taste slightly piercing sweetness joins in, which costs sympathy points but does not trigger any scrubbing thoughts.
At this point, it is clear: "Miyabi" is not my scent.
It reminds me of many others, especially "Madeleine Vionnet," and thus lacks the individuality that I have come to know from Annayaké so far.

Many hours later, "Miyabi" shows a finer, more elegant face - the sweetness has significantly receded, a hint of sandalwood flows through the composition and makes me sniff after it.
This is indeed a bit difficult, as "Miyabi" retreats after just a few hours, as if the perfume is slightly embarrassed by its own insignificance, leaving only an ultra-delicate trace on my skin.

Nose Wonder with Delay
It was once in winter 2010. I was in the worst shopping frenzy with my best friend in a perfume store. A small thin roller caught my eye. Aaah, the new scent from Annayake... let's test it out at lightning speed... hmmm, pleasant, bought!

At home, then the bitter or old sugary surprise during a more extensive rolling. Phew, clumsy vanilla pudding paired with overripe sunflower and a hint of fruity peach, somewhere hidden in the background. I spontaneously think of an aging geisha sitting sadly in the cherry blossom garden.

After two more scent tests on later days, unfortunately the same result... sweet, somehow "old" (the freesia? The strange sunflower??). Off to the deepest corner of my fragrance cabinet.

Now, a few months later, just for fun, I rolled it on again with Old-Geisha-meets-heartbreak touch. Once the first freesia attack is over, my sensitive nose suddenly finds pleasure. It catches a pleasant scent, fruity with peach and soft with gentle vanilla, very, very sweet, but somehow specially pleasant... The next day another test... promptly, I am approached by a male being, asking what a fine scent surrounds me, sweet but not overpowering. Now the final test: my boyfriend has to weigh in. His comment: hmmm, I like it. But whether I take this review seriously, since he unfortunately also likes Cashmir by Chopard, Alien by Mugler, and Vanilla Bomb Le Bain by Joop! I would place Miyake in that previously mentioned fragrance category without hesitation!

Nevertheless: Miyabi by Annayake (I am now having a large bottle brought to me) has somehow convinced me in this delayed run. It will certainly not become my favorite, but the scent is sweet-special, especially when the peach scent comes through. My personal conclusion: Something for the exotic-erotic mood in between, when a woman wants to conquer, for a party night under the starry sky.

A Sensual Depth.
Clear sky on this fresh but sunny autumn day in the park. The leaves are now falling from the trees, transforming the dreary asphalt ground into a shimmering sea of colors.
In the air, a light hint of apple strudel (probably more of an illusion, considering the fragrance notes), which I am already looking forward to when the cold days arrive.
This notion awakens Miyabi anew every time I sniff the scent.

However, Miyabi reminds me not only of autumnal goodwill but also sharpens my senses, and that is exactly what I love about this fragrance. It is multi-layered, cannot be pigeonholed, and so is its wearer: strong, emotional, stylish, captivating, innocent yet seductive.
Miyabi is a light fragrance, but it does not make one appear delicate. It is a soft scent that embodies nothing childish; rather, it pleasantly emphasizes character strength without being pushy.
In my opinion, Miyabi is not for the mature woman, as it lacks the heaviness in the fragrance. Although I associate this scent with a more autumnal atmosphere, it can just as well be used in spring, but it is not recommended for everyday wear in extreme seasons, as it does not unfold its full effect then.

I won’t deny it, Miyabi is not a (synthetically smelling) fragrance bomb that will immediately put you in the spotlight - but that is not what the Miyabi wearer wants either. She fascinates quietly and subtly, plays with her charms without flaunting them. She does not want to be on display, as she does not need to be. Miyabi captivates and fascinates in a subtle way, drawing you in (innocently) and promising more if the wearer allows it. Miyabi skillfully and elegantly embraces and underscores sensuality without appearing girlish or cheap. Many male counterparts will surely be driven to distraction when they have to process all these impressions at once in their brains...
For those who like to dream a little, yet stand firmly with both feet in life and want to stand out from the crowd, they may have found their ideal fragrance counterpart.

Home Office - Fragrance
....short and sweet, for a brief time as a bridge Yes, otherwise No!

In detail:

Like almost everyone, I do a lot of home office work now, finally in nice lounge clothes so that I feel comfortable. Appropriate makeup that is camera-ready and the right glasses, of course, the background also has to be nicely adjusted.

I love my Beige from Chanel, I love my Coromandel from Chanel, I love my fragrances, but none should remind me of this time of the pandemic.

So a new fragrance is needed, I used to wear Indian Holi by Kenzo, which I unfortunately miss dearly, but it hasn't been produced for a long time.

James Bond woman 007 had to suffice at first, too weak for my taste, also tried Angel by Thierry Mugler, it was good, but not always suitable, Jardin Sur le Nil, sometimes too prickly, although I like it well,..........I haven't found the right fragrance.

I rummaged through my collection, none fit or they brought back too many memories.

I have synesthesia, which means I see numbers in colors, I store with 2 or more senses, so every fragrance brings so many memories with it, that's why it's not so easy for me with fragrances, not many people have that....

I then specifically searched for a replacement for Indian Holi and came across this fragrance, often rated very very well and I ordered it immediately, the anticipation was very high, is there a worthy replacement????

Sprayed it on...

Do I have a cold????

Definitely not Indian Holi!!!!

It somehow starts salty and dry, like Seathalasso by Douglas, and then a lot of baby cream from the Hipp baby series comes in, sweet powder, and then it stays like that, a hint of nothing or just baby cream, unspectacular.

The longevity is quite good despite everything, but for me, it’s a transparent white cream fragrance without any significant aura, what a pity.

For the home office, I will use it since it doesn’t bother me, but I will definitely not repurchase this fragrance, and it will remain in my memory as a home office scent, and I hope that it will soon be a thing of the past.

hmm, I really have to be careful, it has happened to me so often that I believe reviews and then it turns out to be so contrary for me.....Beware of blind purchases :-)

Powdery sweet cuddly scent. I definitely smell peach and a few flowers here, along with almond. The fragrance is quite pleasant...

Floral, powdery, warm, and lightly cinnamon-scented, even though cinnamon isn't listed. Similar to Armani Code, just a bit lighter.

Freshness from freesias, I also perceive peach and heliotrope. I hardly find it powdery. Beautiful scent, yet a bit sharp!
