Dreams of the Sea
Although unisex, on the verge of masculine, this is by far my favourite offering from Antonia's Flowers. It has a really unique feel, the first fragrance from this brand with an outstanding sense of character.
Sogni del Mare would smell amazing during Summer. Roughly translated, this fragrance means, 'dreams of the sea'. It has this glorious salty and oceanic feel, further complimented by lotus, aromatic rhubarb and green cassis. Although it does emit a rather masculine vibe, I think any woman could easily pull it off.
I'm not usually one to enjoy aquatics, but this fragrance has some truly likable qualities. At some stages during the development, I'll admit that Sogni del Mare does have an aerosol type scent, that can be a little off-putting, but rest assured it is only short-lived.
This might sound bizarre, but whenever an aquatic has a hint of lotus blossom, I pretty much know straight away that it will eventually appeal to me because the note wears so well on my skin. Lotus tends to cut through anything sharp or loud, adding a beautiful and refreshing femininity.
For those that consider aquatics their favourite fragrance genre, they should really check this one out. I personally like it more than those aquatics currently on the market, that people tend to rave about to no end. It's a cut above the rest in other words.
The sillage is great, and the lasting power is really quite good for that of an EDT. If I were to go to the beach tomorrow, I know for certain that I would reach for Sogni del Mare. It reminds me, not so much of the sunny and crowded beach setting, but of the rocky cliffs, overlooking the ocean on an overcast, windy day. Picturesque and characteristic.
