Too many letters for a statement, too much confusion for a comment, and why do I smell keys?
Actually, I just wanted to write a short statement about this perfume, since I
1. do not own it myself, but only received a sample from a dear perfumer, and
2. because it really is quite a challenging fragrance description for me.
Aaaaaaaber ... I find Orchidea & Riso really VERY special (in a totally interesting way) and somehow both familiar and completely foreign at the same time, which is why I couldn't manage to keep it to just a handful of letters for a statement.
For me, it’s always the case that after the first sniff of a fragrance, memories race through my synapses at high speed, and I start searching for familiar things, events, places, people, situations, delicacies, and other scents with which the tested fragrance can be compared or described. (Spoiler) Let me take one thing in advance: with Orchidea & Riso, I have miserably failed.
The first thought came like an impulse out of nowhere.
MMMM... like Juliette Has A Gun but so so so much more intense ... and then approximately the following happens.
Somehow the intensity multiplies a thousandfold, and everything happens in one blow .... this must be how the universe once expanded. Really from zero to ... a felt bazillion ;-) KABOOM!!!!
I smell rice pudding with sour cherries (when the little hunger strikes moderately), an expensive hair care product from the hairdresser that somehow makes the hair ultra-smooth in a magical way, flowers, but not the kind of flowers that you would want to dive into like a bumblebee to then .... *blblblblblbl* no no ... it’s not that kind of flower at all, but it’s probably the indicated orchid ... and a keychain (?) somehow something metallic, like when you’ve had your apartment key in your hand for a while and afterward it smells like your little hand... and MMMM... I can continue to perceive that the whole time.
It’s so strange... Everything I currently smell on my arm should somehow be sugary sweet and stick to me like syrup. But it doesn’t! It doesn’t smell sweet at all but somehow .... foreign in a familiar way. So you know sweet, sour, bitter, herbal, spicy, salty, smoky, and all that... but that doesn’t help me at ALL here! I would claim I have never smelled anything like this in my life.
Short flashes of things come to mind, but nothing is really tangible. It reminds me of all the familiar things and situations that I just tried to put into words. Everything I just listed somehow appears here, but overall ... it reminds me of nothing that I would know. The longevity and sillage are, in any case, ASTOUNDING, really! But that’s the only thing I can say for sure here.
Unfortunately, I can’t come up with a better description. I hope, in any case, that I was able to convey my confusion to you well ;)
