A warm bed of cypress needles on the sunny forest floor

When I received this as a sample for a Pineward order it had not yet been released. There were no notes available, and there was no entry on Parfumo! So I held out until it was officially released, I didn't want to accidentally stumble on a scrubber. And at first I was very worried about the ginger note. It has a history of turning into a musty dust smell on my skin that I'd liken to an abandoned library.

It's blended perfectly, just like all the other perfumes I've tried from Nilsson. Another realistic pine forest scent, but instead of being damp and dank this one is warm and dry. I can definitely smell the smoky incense aspect but it doesn't overtake the other notes. Fortunately, the ginger note lends itself to the incense and definitely doesn't smell like dust, nor does it pull in the direction of baking spices. The resinous feel of it makes it very cozy and perfect for those colder months from fall through winter. I can't smell the yuzu or pear individually but they help keep the overall scent bright.

Sillage is pretty good without over-projecting and being overpowering, but the longevity is fantastic. I can easily smell this 8+ hours after applying and can smell it for days afterwards on my clothes. It was an instant favorite of mine, as a huge fan of woodsy perfumes.
