Creamy Coconut Cloud

Review number 7 is dedicated to Cloud 2.0. Actually a fragrance marketed towards women, but to my nose, the cloud also works as a unisex scent, provided that a man enjoys sweet fragrances. I became aware of this scent because I was looking for an alternative to JPG's Le Beau Le Parfum (without pineapple) and not because I was looking for an alternative to BR540. I am not familiar with the latter fragrance, so I can't make any comparisons here.
So, I was in search of a sweeter coconut scent, more suitable for the evening hours with a bit more punch (than Le Beau EDT). I found it in Ariana Grande's Cloud 2.0 EDP or Intense.

Admittedly, the bottle with its cloud-shaped holder clearly targets younger women, but it is noticeably heavier and more valuable than I expected. The cap, however (also in cloud shape), is made of rather cheaper plastic. The spray nozzle is okay, not among the best, but also not among the worst. Considering that you can get the whole package with 100ML EDP for under fifty bucks, that's acceptable. Because what really matters is the perfume itself. And here I only have good things to report:

Upon spraying, freshness and sweetness hit me. So intense that it almost has a medicinal (alcoholic?) touch. In fact, I can't identify any of the mentioned notes in the opening, as everything is too overwhelming. It's somehow too much, but also kind of great. After a few minutes, however, that immediately settles down. The freshness and the medicinal aspect fade, revealing sweet coconut-vanilla-cream-cotton candy (what a word).

This probably sounds like you would immediately die from a sugar shock and that it's all heavy and cloyingly sweet. Rest assured: it is not. It is sweet, but not too sweet, because it is rather light and fluffy; just like a cloud. Here, I think of JPG's Scandal (EDT) Pour Homme as a comparison for sweetness, which has a caramel sweetness but is still not cloyingly sweet and also comes across as lighter and not so deep/heavy.

The longer Cloud is on the skin, the creamier, even slightly spicy, it becomes. In the end, the scent reminds me of an upscale coconut body lotion when sniffed up close. Fresh might be the wrong word now; clean! It smells incredibly clean. Like you just showered and applied lotion an hour ago.

Of course, Cloud 2.0 looks great on women, but I see no problem wearing it myself. I struggle much more with floral (especially rose/lilac) scents than with sweet ones. Overall, I can perceive Cloud for 6-8 hours on me, with the first 2-3 hours being significantly stronger and around me. However, I tend to become nose-blind more quickly with scents that I associate with food (i.e., edibles). But now and then, a little cloud wafts into my nose, and I am happy that the scent is still there.

In short: I like the scent. A lovely sweet, airy-creamy coconut evening fragrance that works in all situations, except for super hot nights (temperature-wise; not what you thought).
