Comfort in Moonlight

I actually wasn't sure for a long time whether I should buy Moonlight. A blind buy, of course, as so often during this pandemic. I'm also not sure if you can even find the scent in perfume stores to try it out.
What mainly put me off was the plum in the fragrance pyramid. I often struggle with that. But when I read that Moonlight is said to be very similar to Amo Ferragamo (currently my absolute favorite), I just had to go for it.

To get straight to the point: I can't see that similarity. But let's take it step by step. My first impression of the scent was: Oh no, wrong purchase! I love sweet fragrances, but I don't like heavy scents; I prefer airy, fresh sweetness like in Ariana Grande's Sweet like candy. The sweetness I got here was heavy, dark, like a slap in the face. Definitely the plum! After about half an hour, marshmallow came through, and the plum receded. The peony is also slightly noticeable. From here, the scent became distinctly powdery-sweet. It softened a bit more, with vanilla gently joining in. At this point, I was reconciled with the scent and could imagine us becoming friends.

A few days later. I'm reaching for Moonlight again. The second impression doesn't always match the first - this applies to people as well as perfumes. And indeed: Immediately after spraying, I'm surprised. Pleasantly surprised! The expected slap in the face is absent; it seems to me far less heavy than during our first meeting. (Does anyone have an explanation for why this sometimes happens? I always have to try a new scent twice. The first spray from a new bottle is often completely different.)
I still wouldn't wear Moonlight in everyday life, quite the opposite of Amo Ferragamo, which is always wearable for me. Moonlight feels more like something for the evening. I think of a fireplace, a cozy date in a nice restaurant with someone familiar. Not to get to know someone. Moonlight is comfort, not the thrill of falling in love. It becomes softer over time, which I like more and more. Yet it remains well noticeable.

No, it wasn't a wrong purchase. I like it, even if it probably won't become a favorite for me.

By the way, this is my first review after I have only given statements so far. I am open to and grateful for constructive criticism!
