Lost Its Shine
Basically, I like the house Atelier des Ors. Not least because my signature scent comes from there, and I still find pleasure in it after many years. There are also one or two other fragrances that have been in my collection for a while and will remain, but here I must sadly say, I am not convinced.
The bottles are a dream anyway, and here I find them absolutely dazzling and harmonious, not too kitschy or exaggerated. Especially the seahorse is, of course, a feast for the eyes. I myself have the "Lune Féline Edition Limitée | Atelier des Ors" bottle at home, and it is a real eye-catcher that satisfies the decorative heart of all decor enthusiasts. But there, the content is convincing. Here, it is not.
I was alert and curious when I saw that a fragrance from AdO was coming out that seemed to be packed with vanilla. It is, but somehow it doesn't quite fit together.
At first, it bites quite hard. In the nose, as well as on the skin. Full blast of vanilla, which is swirled around with sandblasting. There is a metallic undertone on the edge, and a bit of flower adorns this. It feels somewhat out of place and clumsy, as if the fragrance were rolling like an elephant in a china shop. The note of vanilla, I find far too squeaky, especially it does not feel dense and full, but rather weary. It would also suit a discount fragrance well. What were they thinking at AdO? In the heart, the fragrance then becomes dull, slightly sweeter, with a bright undertone of wood. The metallic aspect is still present, but the flowers have long since drowned in stagnant water. A hint of musk and some plump spice can still be perceived as a long breath, but that's about it.
The longevity and sillage are by no means overwhelming, which one would initially expect from the opening. The fragrance is swallowed up by me quite quickly.
What a pity. It is not enough to just look beautiful and shine. Rather, the content is important, but here I must pass.
The shine has definitely been lost.

Too synthetic.
With familiar brands, we approach testing with so much anticipation and trust that we end up feeling quite disappointed with experiences like this.
Thanks for your report, because I'm always very curious about vanilla scents-especially during the darker season.
I can cross this one off my list.
