Sitting Under a Fig Tree Branch
This review is for the perfume oil, as those who have visited the Ava Luxe site know, many of the fragrances come in eau de parfum, parfume oil and parfum extract. This fragrance opens with a clean green leafy accord and a vague walnut shell or nutty note that is quite delicious. The fig in this composition is the leaves and branches of the fig tree crushed up into a pulp as opposed to a dense sweetened fig note. The coconut milk adds just a soft roundness to the base, but again this is unsweetened. The predominant feeling of this scent is fresh, green and soothing with a little bit of gourmandize. Figuer gives the impression of resting under the solitude of a shady fig tree in the warmth of the Summer. If you like CB I Hate Perfume's interpretation of green fig leaves and dry crunchy twigs called "Revelation" or the green grapevine note in "Under the Arbor", you will enjoy this scent, as well.
I find Figuer layers very nicely with Ava Luxe's No. 23 (a great little sandalwood number)and Diptyque's L'eau de L'eau (a spicy clove, lavender & citrus creation). The sillage on Figuer parfume oil is about 2-4 inches on my skin now after the first hour, it is a subtle, yet intriguing skin scent. After the first 4 hours this dries down to a cedar-coconut milk base and I find reapplication is required. That being said, this is such a delectable fragrance I keep going back to the sample and will be ordering a larger bottle before too long.
