This fragrance has something fascinating about it that doesn't let go of you. Sweet, but with lightness, sparkling freshness, but with depth and dimension. Ginger, in the right dosage, can be a real magic for a fragrance, a tingling intensity that elevates the humidity when smelling it.
And I believe the red ginger here does this in an even more sensual, fulfilling way than regular ginger notes in fragrances, which can often make them a bit edgy.
In any case, the blend has a magic that has consistently convinced me during every test in the store, even the late drydown on the paper strips at home. This fragrance has drawn me more and more into its spell over the months, and during the last test, I noticed that the drydown reminds me of something... something Christmas-like, or special... familiar.
Then it hit me: "Gaultier² (2005) | Jean Paul Gaultier," that's what it reminds me of. This slight "hippie shop" vibe that vanilla, amber, and musk create, in the most sexy way possible. ;)
I'm not saying it's exactly the same fragrance, but the reminiscence is definitely there.
I'm glad I figured it out and can finally put a lid on my association. However, I'm still not quite sure if it might be a bit redundant if you already have the Gaultier.
