Candy Sweet
My father-in-law loves his A*Men, it can hardly be sweet and sticky enough for him in terms of perfume. But we wanted to give him for Father's Day something different than always the same blue star. So I guessed the new "Joop! Homme". Without having tested it before, without there being any votes even here on Parfumo. That was risky just based on gut feeling, DNA and scent pyramid. Fortunately, he thinks it's really great. And I (with smears) also - now after the test!
The brown EdP of "Joop! Homme" still has the classic Rosabomber DNA of the masculine, boundary-pushing classic. But much more liqueur and subdued, a little denser and more modern, autumnal and spicy. Pappsweet, especially in its second half, where it leaves points and steps into current mainstream fatties. Axe doesn't say hello too far there. However, it never gets bad. And at first, it's actually really fine. For my taste. If you like sweet and still sometimes walk around the Cologne rings in your mind like back then. Or at least sees it with a twinkle in your eye. "J!H EdP" is somewhat reminiscent of "Gaultier squared", which is of course particularly smart and positively puffy. Indeed, even among women, this is definitely a fragrance that will be missed. A little orange blossom storm. Unisex without question. Not badly done, a bit mushy and creamy. Similar but better than, say, Stronger With You. Nutty and fluffy. Fully in the mainstream, but you don't have to hate because of that. Since in recent years, without question, much crappier fragrances have been poured into this famous bottle form.
Flacon: the brown stands in the good and does not seem "poopy"
Sillage: potent, but also not the beast like his pink father (once was and also still is with smears).
Durability: makes its rounds, there I can explore a small town - double digits on my skin almost.
Conclusion: i still like them, the really sweet (macho/player) fragrances... just have to be well made. Or exude nostalgia. And the Eau de Parfum of Joop Homme makes both okay to lush
