Upon the first spray, I catch a brief whiff of an exquisite candy. Blackberry with sugary violet.
Soon, the violet takes the lead, and it takes a while for the rose to make its appearance.
In the base, it is then what it IS: noble, delicate rose water.
The longevity is good for an EDT, lasting about ten hours. For those who value sillage, it is rather weak; however, L'Eau Rose translates to rose water and does not promise otherwise.
The big siblings, Balenciaga Paris and Balenciaga Paris L'essence, are EDPs and may therefore be viewed differently and are, in my eyes, a real blockbuster. The fragrance relationship is clearly recognizable, in a very refined version.
L'Eau Rose will bring me joy on days when I'm not looking for a grand entrance, and there are indeed such days ;)
The practical aspect of the lack of sillage is that you can easily spray over it in the evening and still showcase the scent for the big appearance.
The bottle is elegant and classic and very pleasant to handle.
A delicate love of mine, and that’s saying something since I’m not particularly fond of rose scents.
