Noble Rose Water

Baliencagia Paris L'Eau Rose is a special EDT.

Upon the first spray, I catch a brief whiff of an exquisite candy. Blackberry with sugary violet.

Soon, the violet takes the lead, and it takes a while for the rose to make its appearance.

In the base, it is then what it IS: noble, delicate rose water.

The longevity is good for an EDT, lasting about ten hours. For those who value sillage, it is rather weak; however, L'Eau Rose translates to rose water and does not promise otherwise.

The big siblings, Balenciaga Paris and Balenciaga Paris L'essence, are EDPs and may therefore be viewed differently and are, in my eyes, a real blockbuster. The fragrance relationship is clearly recognizable, in a very refined version.

L'Eau Rose will bring me joy on days when I'm not looking for a grand entrance, and there are indeed such days ;)

The practical aspect of the lack of sillage is that you can easily spray over it in the evening and still showcase the scent for the big appearance.

The bottle is elegant and classic and very pleasant to handle.

A delicate love of mine, and that’s saying something since I’m not particularly fond of rose scents.

Sometimes love grows slowly....

When my sample arrived, I had scented both arms differently, so it had to wait. It waited until spring was truly here. The first spray was somewhat disappointing; I can't quite describe it, it was somehow weak and skin-like-sweaty. But after a short time, it blended with my skin in a pleasant way, the scent felt almost familiar then.
Still, I wasn't sure if it would be enough, yet I caught myself testing it multiple times in a row and then finally wearing it out. And what can I say, its unobtrusive nature won me over. The memory of Brother L'Essence is also there, probably due to the violets, and I bought a bottle (which I left packaged for days in case I wanted to exchange it...)
So definitely not a fragrance with a big entrance and drama, no diva, but a sensual, spring-summer-autumn suitable being.

Where Have My Roses Gone?

I was very curious about this fragrance, as I have not been a particular fan of Balenciaga scents so far.
A new rose fragrance could change that, as rose scents are my passion.
Although I already have several in my collection, I still hope for the one that surpasses all my dreams....!

Well, unfortunately, this is not it!
Upon the first spray, I find the scent to be powdery with a somewhat stale rose note.
As it develops, the tart note of blackberry comes into play, and patchouli takes away the sweetness from the rose.
But I constantly have the feeling that I have smelled this fragrance somewhere before; at times it reminds me of "Parisienne" by YSL, but I absolutely miss the newness that I hoped to discover.

A major downside is the lack of longevity of the fragrance.
Barely is it there, and it is already gone.

I must clearly say that there are far more beautiful and unique rose fragrances out there; this one unfortunately does not make my heart race.
One could say that it is not intrusive and does not stand out in the office, but that is absolutely not a buying criterion and does not make it more attractive to me.

My sad conclusion: unfortunately, Balenciaga has not been able to convince me this time either!
