Let the corks pop!
Saturday is almost here and I’m really excited about it. A good friend is coming to visit. She has been away for a while and I miss her a lot. Since she loves really sweet, but also powdery scents, I couldn’t resist sending her a few treats abroad. Among them was "Extatic Intense Gold." A few days later, I got a call. She was totally shrill and happy on the phone: "This is such a beautiful fragrance, it makes me do somersaults!" That warms every friend’s heart!
Tomorrow we’re heading into the city and we’re going to have a blast. I haven’t seen her in a whole year and I’m looking forward to the evening. We will definitely be wearing the Intense Gold by Balmain. In a partner look, so to speak :D
I have already written a comment about the "normal" Extatic. It’s not a milestone in the fragrance dynasty, but it’s a really cute little guy that gives you beautiful eyes. Here it’s not much different. Although I find the sweetness of this Extatic to be a bit heavier and duller, they are one and the same. A beautiful powdery, sweet fragrance that carries a lot of loveliness within. However, it doesn’t bring out any divas, but chic, modern ladies who can also throw on a veil of sweetness.
The beginning is already sweet with a truly refined vanilla, and you can clearly notice a delicate jasmine note after a very short time. The fragrance gets warmer by the minute. The amber envelops you. Really finely crafted. Floral trails make their own way through the scent progression. All wrapped in gentle powder that lightly rests on your soul. Add a bit of depth and you feel like a beauty from 1001 Nights. Women from Arab countries would surely love this one. Because it is heavily sweet, with an oriental touch, and a rich woody note that stabilizes the pyramid.
While the fragrance components don’t resemble each other particularly when comparing this one to the normal Extatic, what does that really say? As mentioned, they are one and the same. This one, however, is deeper and in my opinion, also perfect for the night. Because you notice it and you will certainly be approached by someone. The longevity exceeds 8 hours for me. The bottle is a feast for the eyes. Anyone who likes it black, modern, and really chic will be well served here.

Because it shines with elegance, despite its sweetness, which can be a downfall for some. But by far not as much as the sweet horse from Lancôme (La vie est belle). Please don’t get me wrong. It’s not to be compared with such extremely heavy, sweet fragrances. It also doesn’t come off as cheap or synthetic.
