Ancient Source of Power
Run! Down the dusty, sandy path. Run! Past the rugged juniper bushes, slender, tall pines that have laid out a dense carpet for you with their fine needles.
It gets darker. The pines stand closer together. The juniper grows scraggly. Around the next bend, you see it. The crown of the majestic, ancient cedar rises above the pines.
You pull the thick rope from your leather backpack. Throw it over the lower branch. Your fingers find grip in the deep grooves of the rough bark. Believe in your strength! You can do it! The rope gives you support. The first branch is the biggest hurdle. Three forks higher is your place. You lean against the mighty trunk and rest. You feel its power flowing slowly but steadily into your back. With closed eyes, you sense: Up here, everything is good.

Ancient Wood is a dark green juniper-cedar scent. It starts dusty, dry, cool. The different types of juniper create an interesting shifting of the fragrance: spicy, bitter, woody, in various shades of green. In between, I perceive pine resin. Impressive how powerful and energizing the scent notes appear! Slowly it becomes calmer and a bit warmer. Here, the cedar emerges more woody than resinous. It forms the base. I can only faintly sense leather, hardly perceiving it.
At the beginning, I find the scent straightforwardly powerful and authentically strong. It clearly appeals to the masculine aspects within me. It fits that it is offered as a solid in a tin can labeled with paper. After five hours, I put it back - in my toolbox ;-)
