In the opening Vanira Moorea smells very much like a refreshing summer cologne a la 4711, but don't be fooled. The petitgrain is strong at first, but it doesn't stay the most dominant note for long. Instead, a powdery vanilla unfolds quickly. It's not listed, but I'm quite sure that there must be orange blossom and/or neroli in this, too. Together with the vanilla it gives the whole fragrance are marshmallow vibe: Sweet, fluffy, slightly dry in texture. Not sticky, but very sweet. I can sense a spritz of fresh orange juice, too, which lightens up the scent, but it's not enough to make this really fruity. For my personal taste this is one of those scents that get better the longer they're on. If you prefer greenery over sweetness, you might find the opposite to be true.
This is a lovely summer gourmand, I really like this kind of scent. Because I already have a lot of marvelous vanilla/"orange tree part" (leaves, flowers or fruit) combos in my collection and one my wishlist, this one doesn't make the cut for me, even though I find it very enjoyable. It could be the perfect blend for someone who likes marshmallow-ish fragrances, but also needs some fresh citrus notes to make them wearable.
