endless winter
icy-crisp white
close to the oven
a gray man huddles
longing ponders
colors, warmth, light
tenderness
and a beloved face
far away
already a lifetime ago
eyes shine
no longer see today
it was March
just at this time
green tips
were getting ready
and still
its scent fills the room
weaves a smile
through the old man's dream "Woman No. 2" is the second fragrance by Betty Barclay that I have had the pleasure of experiencing - its soft, cotton-warm sensuality invites you to dream and occasionally even breathes the kiss of the muse on the cheek of its wearer...
However, poetry alone is not always enough to convey a precise impression of a fragrance, so I would like to add a few more prosaic remarks:
Betty's second woman may not present herself as fresh or cool to me, despite the slightly misleading blue bottle - from the very first moment, soft musky warmth dominates, delicately enriched with slightly sweet sandalwood and vanilla.
Here, all components form a finely tuned and very harmonious mélange that reminds me a bit of "Soft Musk" by Avon, a fragrance I really liked in the mid-80s and which had a similarly soothing, lullaby-like effect on me.
Indeed: A fragrance for every day, perhaps not exactly in the height of summer and not for the grandest appearances, but still one of those scents that makes a woman feel "well-dressed" and with which she can't go wrong.
