What works gets copied, right?
I saw the fragrance a few months ago in my local drugstore and just tried it out. I liked it right away. Citrus notes with a hint of floral and a nice stable sandalwood base.
So I took it home.
I wore it more often, and the performance and sillage are really nice and within range.
I didn't think much about the fragrance and I usually don't write reviews.
But then came 2025. And with that year, the new and really popular Polo 67 hit the market. I ordered it without comparing the fragrance notes. And immediately upon smelling it, I thought to myself: "I know this."
So I compared both directly, and well, if you don't know, the difference is probably not detectable. Polo 67 likely has a bit more pineapple and Trophy has more bergamot; otherwise, these fragrances are practically identical.
And I actually find that outrageous. A good fragrance from an unknown brand that sits in the local drugstore only gets a 5.4 rating, while the twin from Polo smoothly scores an 8.4. Brand really does make more of a difference than it should.
Since Trophy is significantly cheaper per mL, I can only recommend it as an alternative to Polo 67. It's also not a dupe; Trophy existed long before Polo 67.
