Simply a very good Rose ...

I have an unspoken rule ... stay away from 'cheap' ... it's usually disappointing and a waste of money that may have been better applied toward something fabulous. I came to Rose of Bulgaria by way of looking for pure Bulgarian Rose oil. When I saw that the company also makes EDP's I really couldn't resist the price tag and ordered both versions too. For a measly 11 Euros I think I may just have stumbled across one of the nicest Rose frags I have ever encountered.

Now, as those of you reading this know, I am not a great proponent of 'gender-ising' fragrances ... that kind of marketing is lost on me so the fact that this is a Rose 'for Men' is moot. This EDP opens a little spicy with a hint of Cinnamon and a touch of Geranium-like greenness before it blooms into a deep, dark and beautifully sophisticated Rose, reminding me somewhat of Malle's Une Rose. There is a breath of earthiness like freshly rained upon soil and the unique trace of mushrooms that I sometimes get from really good Rose Oil.
As far a sillage goes, I came to realize recently that I am not a very good judge of the size of my fragrance wake. I was wearing Tea Rose in very hot and humid weather and long after I had stopped smelling it on myself, someone remarked at how good it smelled and asked me what I was wearing. A few shots of RoBfM to my left arm has created a very nice aura as I sit here at my computer, providing little wafts as I type. I will give this a full wearing tomorrow for a meeting and will see if someone mentions it.
As far as I am concerned, this fragrance could be worn by either gender and to great effect ... providing, of course, that one enjoys fine Bulgarian Rose.

I really love Rose frags ... the more I have in my collection, the merrier! I don't wear a lot of them as frequently as I should, but Rose of Bulgaria's 'for Men' will definitely be a regular in my rotation. I just placed an order for a half dozen bottles :) ...
